The $274 million box office success of The Expendables had a lot to do with writer/director and star Sylvester Stallone (and about 40 other action stars), but Stallone is taking a less involved approach for the sequel.
The LA Times reports that Stallone is developing the movie, but is "meeting with directors" to helm the sequel, according to a Times source. Stallone is also off The Expendables 2 scripting duties, with screenwriters Ken Kaufman (Space Cowboys) and newcomer David Agosto writing the script for the sequel instead.
No details have been offered about the action sequel, though one could assume it will feature a bevy of action stars surrounded by explosions and gunfire. In August, Stallone revealed that he wanted Bruce Willis to play a "supervillain" and mentioned that his idea for an Expendables sequel was "quite radical." Willis has admitted that he would like to return, as has Jason Statham. Posted 03.09.11 by Ryan
