Calling it a gift to his fans, Michael Moore announced he's releasing his latest documentary, Slacker Uprising, for free on the net. The September 23 release will be a first for a major film. Slacker Uprising follows Moore's 62-city tour in 2004 designed to rally young voters. "I've been thinking about what I want to do to help with the election this year," Moore said.
The 97-minute movie, which cost about $2 million to make, was funded by Moore and movie executives Bob and Harvey Weinstein. The Weinsteins hold the international rights. Interested fans can sign up in advance for the download or pre-order a DVD for $9.95.
