Columbia Pictures has released a red band trailer for their upcoming comedy Bad Teacher, which follows Cameron Diaz as a foul-mouthed, money-hungry, middle school teacher who competes against another teacher (Lucy Punch) for the attentions of a substitute teacher (Justin Timberlake) who comes from a rich family.
Written by The Office writers Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky (who also wrote Ghostbusters III, which, at this rate, won't be made until 2018) and directed by Jake Kasdan (Walk Hard, Orange County), Bad Teacher looks like the ultimate vehicle for Diaz, who, in the trailer, exhibits all kinds of, well, bad behavior: Cursing at her students; smoking marijuana; and treating gym teacher Jason Segel as horribly as possible. The breakout star of Walk Hard, Jake Kasdan's R-rated spoof of music biopics, could very well be Tyler Nilson -- or, to be more precise, Nilson's genitalia, which shares a good deal of screen time in the film with star John C. Reilly. Nilson's character (named "Bert" according to IMDB) appears at various points throughout the film, inexplicably -- and hilariously -- naked in every one of his scenes.
In an exclusive interview with Reelz.com, Walk Hard producer Judd Apatow discussed the process involved in casting the role and why Nilson was the right man for the job. What Apatow had to say is not for the faint of heart, but if you think you can handle it, click here. Posted 12.03.07 by reelz
