Over the past several years, Curtis Jackson, aka rapper 50 Cent, has made a concerted effort to distinguish himself not only as a musician but as an actor as well. Jackson made his cinematic debut in the 2005 semi-autobiographical crime drama Get Rich or Die Tryin' before landing a supporting role opposite Academy Award–winners Robert De Niro and Al Pacino in the 2008 crime thriller Righteous Kill. Jackson's latest feature, Freelancers, pairs him again with De Niro and another Academy Award–winner, Forest Whitaker. Jackson told Hollywood Dailies that working with actors like Whitaker and De Niro keeps him wanting to raise his game as an actor.
Of course, you've got to be prepared for it. You don't want to be there with that caliber of talent and not show up performance-wise.
Freelancers sees Jackson play a crooked NYPD police officer who joins forces with his deceased father's former partner (De Niro) and a group of rogue cops. Jackson said that he bonded with De Niro during the shoot. "He's cool," Jackson admitted. "He's somebody that I would actually hang out with if I could all the time." watch the Freelancers trailer >> Posted 08.22.12 by Ryan

Another week another accusation. A former Royal Caribbean cruise room attendant is accusing John Travolta of assault, battery, and emotional distress in a federal lawsuit. Fabian Zanzi accuses Travolta of stripping off his robe and pushing against him during a food delivery to his cabin in 2009. Zanzi also alleges Travolta offered him $12,000 of hush money. As with previous allegations against Travolta, the actor's attorney fiercely denies Zanzi's charges. "This is another ludicrous lawsuit with inane claims," says Travolta's lawyer. "It is obvious that Mr. Zanzi and his lawyers are looking for their 15 minutes of fame."
Rapper 50 Cent was reportedly hospitalized with possible neck and back injuries after being in a serious car accident in New York City late Monday. The site ThisIs50.com reports 50's vehicle was hit by a truck. The site posted photo of 50 on a stretcher with a neck brace. The driver of the truck reportedly told police the load he was transporting shifted and he lost control of the truck. No word yet on 50's condition.
Jon Hamm and his girlfriend were robbed in London. The Mad Men star and Jennifer Westfeldt were dining in the city earlier this month when Westfeldt's purse was stolen. The thief then took the hotel room key from the purse and cleaned out their belongings. Westfeldt said police are still investigating the robbery. We're sure this is something Don Draper wouldn't stand for.
Megan Fox proved she's still a knockout, even pregnant. The actress flaunted her baby bump while in Hawaii celebrating her second wedding anniversary with actor Brian Austin Green. The couple actually haven't announced that they're expecting a child but we think the photos take care of that.
And we have the first look at the movie adaptation of 50 Shades of Gray. OK, that was a cruel joke. Sorry. Posted 06.26.12 by Chris
With two Jason Statham movies opening in the next two months, it looked like the fall was going to be the "season of Statham" until the action thriller Safe moved from October to next March. But taking the place of Safe is director Géla Babluani's 13 to go along with September's Killer Elite.
Set in the world of underground Russian Roulette gambling, 13 is an English-language remake of the 2005 French thriller 13 Tzameti, both of which were directed by Babluani. The original won the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance in 2006, while the English-language version was shot in 2008 and disappeared after premiering at the South By Southwest Festival last March, outside of a trailer last November. With a cast that includes Mickey Rourke, Ray Winstone, Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson, Michael Shannon, True Blood's Alexander Skarsgård, Entourage's Emmanuelle Chriqui, and Dexter's David Zayas, did 13 deserved to sit on a shelf for almost two years? Only one way to find out. watch the trailer >> Posted 09.16.11 by Ryan
Today you may have heard worrying news about Curtis Jackson, also knows as rapper 50 Cent, making a cameo appearance in final Twilight Saga movie Breaking Dawn. Fear not, fans — Jackson quickly dismissed any talk of a cameo, confirming he hasn't been approached about any kind of role in the vampire franchise.
Seriously, Twilighters, does he seem a good fit for the series? Although cameos have occurred — saga author Stephenie Meyer appeared in Twilight and British musician Peter Murphy played a vampire in Eclipse — we think inviting 50 Cent to make his mark on the movie would be one step too far. Do you agree? Let us know in the comments. Posted 08.05.10 by reelz
