When the popular Web comic-turned-book series made the leap to the big screen earlier this year, the movie earned about $64 million — a big hit considering that Diary of a Wimpy Kid was made for around $15 million. So it's no surprise that a sequel is in the works. What is surprising, though, is the release date given to Diary of a Wimpy Kid 2: Roderick Rules — March 25, 2011.
The entire cast is set to return (meet them here), with filming to start next month in Vancouver. This time David Bowers (Flushed Away, Astro Boy) will direct. Posted 07.09.10 by reelz
We got our hands on 10 new photos and seven new clips from the Diary of a Wimpy Kid movie, opening March 19. We've consistently been a little disappointed with what's been released thus far, but not this time. There are more animated bits in the style of the books, and funny turns by the adults, particularly the scene-stealing Rachael Harris (The Hangover) who plays Greg's mom. Check them out and leave your thoughts below. Posted 03.09.10 by reelz
They say that 40 is the new 30, but for actress Rachael Harris, 40 must feel like the new 20. After recently appearing in such roles as "art opening spectator" and "skanky broad," Harris has just been cast as Courteney Cox's new rival on the hit show Cougar Town. She is also starring as The Wimpy Kid's mother in the highly anticipated big-screen adaptation of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid book, due for an April 2, 2010 release.
In related news, while Cox made our First Annual Top 25 Cougar Actresses, Harris did not. We're now thinking might've been an oversight on our part. Don't worry, Rachael, there's always next year! Posted 10.13.09 by reelz
