"There's only a few things I really care about in life"
Could it get anymore amazing than Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Scarlett Johansson in the same movie? We think it can when Gordon-Levitt is also directing the movie. Don Jon marks the stars directorial debut (he also wrote the script) and from a look at the first trailer it is obvious why this movie was such a success at The Sundance Festival. The movie follows Levitt as Don Jon, an average guy from Jersey, who has one problem; he's addicted to porn. This may pose a problem when he meets Barbara (Johansson), his love interest. Don Jon also stars Julianne Moore and Tony Danza and hits screens October 18. Watch Trailer Now >> Posted 05.23.13 by reelz
Who can make the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs?
Before we had more details about Disney's plans for its newly-acquired Star Wars movie franchise, we asked you who you thought would make a good replacement for Harrison Ford as Han Solo in the planned Star Wars: Episode VII movie. You chose Nathan Fillion by a wide margin — an excellent choice considering Joss Whedon based the character that Fillion played in Serenity on Han Solo — but the more we hear about Episode VII, the more we're convinced that Ford will be reprising the role himself. That doesn't mean that the hunt for Han Solo is over, however.
Last week, Disney announced that at least two spin-off movies set in the Star Wars universe are in development, in addition to the new trilogy that will begin with Episode VII. One of the spin-offs will be set between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope and chronicle the adventures of Han Solo before his fateful meeting with Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) and Obi-Wan Kenobi (Sir Alec Guinness) on Tatooine. Considering Ford was 35 when he played Solo for the first time, Disney will likely be looking to cast an actor in his 20's or early 30's, which puts Fillion, at 41, out of the running for the gig. Put on your thinking caps once again and help us to choose the best actor to play the smuggler, gambler and scoundrel who will one day woo a princess and help save the galaxy.

Last year's mega-hit The Avengers was, in some ways, the catalyst behind the spate of comic book movies created by Marvel Studios, who struck gold with 2008's Iron Man, which teased at a superhero team-up movie to come. After finding that success, Marvel followed by introducing more individual superheroes in 2008's The Incredible Hulk, 2010's Iron Man 2, and last year's Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger, embarking on an unusual strategy of creating individual movies that also worked a little bit like sequels that fed into the story of The Avengers.
The Avengers 2 will arrive in 2015 and cap off a second phase of Marvel's "cinematic universe," and will face competition from what Warner Bros.and DC Entertainment hopes will be the start of their "cinematic universe," starting with 2015's Justice League. Gangster Squad screenwriter Will Beall has already been hired to write the screenplay for the movie which will follow (if recent rumors are true) an unsurprising lineup that includes Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman and Martian Manhunter. With the release dates being so close together, we wondered which team could take down the other, and, since there will never be a movie where the two teams face off, there's only one way to solve this hypothetical dilemma: the cybernetic walls of our Character Cage Match! check out the teams' strengths and weaknesses before weighing in on our poll >> Posted 01.10.13 by Ryan

Who should play Peter Parker's best frienemy?
Even though director Marc Webb has expressed some reluctance about leaping right back into the swing of things (pardon the pun) with The Amazing Spider-Man 2 so soon after The Amazing Spider-Man, plans for the sequel are moving right along. We recently learned that Shailene Woodley (The Descendants) has been offered the role of Mary Jane Watson, Peter Parker's college girlfriend and eventual wife in the Marvel comic books and his paramour in the Sam Raimi-directed trilogy. And, only days ago, Academy Award-winner Jamie Foxx (Ray) teased fans by tweeting that he had "dressed up as Electro for Halloween," the villain known to be menacing Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) in the sequel, a bold casting move that Webb seemed to confirm when he later called Foxx an "electrifying" actor.
The only other new character that is known to be appearing in the sequel and that does not yet have an actor's name attached is Harry Osborn, son of Norman Osborn, whose company was directly responsible for the creation of both Spider-Man and the Lizard (Rhys Ifans). In the comic books, as in Raimi's movies, Harry was Peter's friend until his father, wearing the guise of the Green Goblin, is killed during a battle with Spider-Man. Harry then takes up the mantle of the Goblin and sets out to destroy Spider-Man. James Franco got his big break by landing the role of Harry in Raimi's trilogy. Who do you think has what it takes to fill Franco's shoes and go tit for tat with Garfield in the sequel?

Who Should Wear the Cape & Cowl?
It's still unclear how Warner Bros. (WB) plans to proceed with the Batman franchise now that director Christopher Nolan has wrapped up his trilogy. If you've seen The Dark Knight Rises, than you know that Nolan handed the keys to the bat cave to someone from within the universe he created just in case WB wanted to continue the story. However, since the studio announced in June that Gangster Squad scribe Will Beall had been hired to pen a movie based on DC Comics' preeminent super-team, the Justice League — the team's current roster includes Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman and Cyborg — it seems far more likely that a new Bruce Wayne/Batman will be chosen, one that has nothing to do with Nolan's universe.
It will be tough to fill Christian Bale's Academy Award-winning shoes, but there must be someone out there with the physicality to play a superhero and the acting chops to portray a man driven to prevent the kind of senseless violence that took his parents away from him. Help us choose the new Dark Knight.

Yesterdays child actors, today's superstars!
We're all too familiar with the supposed "curse" of being a child actor. A darling child with a precocious knack for acting grows up with too much fame and fortune and too little (or the wrong kind of) parental supervision and they grow up to become a tabloid headline and late night talk show punchline. Or, worse yet, they don't make it to adulthood at all. Lindsay, Amanda, Corey, Macaulay, Demi, Miley...the list goes on and on. Just as we can't look away as we slowly pass by a terrible accident on the freeway, we often find ourselves compelled to stare at the wreckage so many child stars make of their adulthood.
Though the stories of tragic former child stars may make for juicier reading while standing in line at the check-out stand, the great majority of child actors grow up to become well-adjusted adults. Most leave acting behind and move on to "normal" careers as teachers, bankers or software engineers, but many remain in show business, finding even greater success as an adult. In Looper, writer-director Rian Johnson's (Brick) new time-tripping action thriller opening this Friday, Joseph Gordon-Levitt (JGL) plays a hitman ("looper") tasked with terminating his own future self (Bruce Willis), who is sent back in time so that there will be no trace of the crime in the future. Talk about a head trip! This plot has "time paradox" written all over it. If JGL kills Willis, wouldn't he remember that happening and try to prevent it from happening when he grows up to be Willis? And, if Willis kills JGL, wouldn't he simply cease to exist?
Looper isn't the first movie to delve into the complex moral and metaphysical conundrums inherent in time travel. In The Terminator, Kyle Reese (Michael Biehn) is sent back in time by John Connor, the future leader of the resistance against the machines, and ends up becoming Connor's dad. And in Back to the Future, Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) goes back in time to save his friend and is almost erased from history when his mother (Lea Thompson) starts crushing on him.
