Queen Elizabeth kicked off her Diamond Jubilee in style with the Duchess of Cambridge at her side. The two traveled from London to Leicester by train and reportedly caused a stir at the station. The Queen and Prince Philip plan to visit every major town in the UK during their tour, which runs through July 25. It seems safe to assume that the Queen will don many more fabulous hats during her tour.
Yesterday, William H. Macy and Felicity Huffman became the second married couple to be honored with a double star ceremony on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Movie producers Lauren Shuler Donner and Richard Donner were the first couple to get their stars on the same day back in 2008. To date, Filliam H. Muffman have received two Emmy awards, two Oscar nominations, and seven Golden Globe nominations (including one win).
Singer and songwriter Fiona Apple has a new album coming out this year and it has one mouthful of a title. The 23-word title doesn't follow any capitalization rules, but what else would one expect from a bad, bad girl like Apple? "The Idler Wheel is wiser than the Driver of the Screw, and Whipping Cords will serve you more than Ropes will ever do" doesn't yet have a release date, but it's expected to be out in early summer.
Snooki finally admitted that she was pregnant, but she already has one little bundle of joy. Her engagement ring from Jionni LaValle is reported to include over 5 karats worth of diamonds. The $55,000 ring was custom made for Snooki but was based on a style she had pointed out to LaValle (very subtly, we're sure) late last year. The ring features a central 3.2 karat princess cut stone, with another 2 karats of diamonds set in the platinum band.
Amanda Seyfried and Josh Hartnett are together, and they've reportedly kept their relationship under wraps since January. Then again, perhaps they've simply been together a couple months but since neither is really gossip mag fodder, no one much noticed.
In pop culture mashup news, the kids at College Humor combined the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air theme song with Downton Abbey and it has to be the silliest thing we've seen in days. If only the Dowager Countess were around to say something civil yet snide about it. Posted 03.08.12 by Mandy
Author Elmore Leonard has had a prolific writing career that goes back to the 1950's and has had several of his books turned into movies, including 1995's Get Shorty, 1997's Jackie Brown (based on his novel Rum Punch) and 1998's Out of Sight, to name a few. The latest adaptation is Freaky Deaky, Leonard's 1988 novel about a couple of '60s radicals that decide to make money in the 1970s with their bomb-making skills, which is being adapted and directed by Charles Matthau. The movie is already assembling a great cast.
Deadline reports that Matt Dillon, Brendan Fraser, William H. Macy and Craig Robinson have joined the cast of Freaky Deaky. Dillon will play Chris Mankowski, a Vietnam veteran turned Detroit police sergeant on the force's bomb squad, while Fraser will play Skip Gibbs, a former '60s radical who's now a Hollywood dynamite expert. Macy plays an alcoholic playboy millionaire who is threatened by Skip and his girlfriend to pay $3 million or have his house blown up, and Robinson plays Donnell Lewis, Woody's driver and ex-Black Panther who is looking to cash in. Sienna Miller was already cast as Robin, the other '60s radical and Skip's girlfriend, last week. read the full synopsis >> Posted 06.04.11 by Ryan
