Initially, most of the buzz — and the marketing campaign — surrounding Immortals had to do with the involvement of Mark Canton and Gianni Nunnari, who brought their experience as the producers of 300 to director Tarsem Singh's (The Cell) swords-and-sandals epic, and with the casting of then-hot Mickey Rourke — coming off of his career-rebounding performance in The Wrestler and his high-profile villain role in Iron Man 2 — as the antagonist, the blood-thirsty Titan, King Hyperion. However, after British actor Henry Cavill landed the role of Superman/Clark Kent in director Zack Snyder's Man of Steel, much of the attention shifted over to him and pretty much stayed there.
While Cavill's rising super-star status has undoubtedly been good for Immortals, the unfortunate thing about it is the fact that many of the other excellent members of the cast have pretty much been overlooked. It appears that Relativity Media and Universal Pictures have finally noticed their Cavill marketing bias because they just released two new featurettes that shine the spotlight on Isabel Lucas (Daybreakers) and Freida Pinto (Slumdog Millionaire), and the roles their characters play in the movie. watch the new Immortals videos >> Posted 10.29.11 by BrentJS
No chance this summer would be short on the eye-candy after Jon Favreau's hottie-packed Iron Man 2 last year (Scarlett Johansson, Gwyneth Paltrow, Leslie Bibb, et al). That model combined with a record 10 comic-based movies has, ahem, fleshed out the summer quite nicely, you could say — too nicely, in fact. That's why we decided to narrow this year's list, and even then we couldn't keep it to a top 10.

With a James Bond 23 movie in the works, speculation runs high about who the next 007 femme fatale might be. Bookmakers in the U.S. and U.K. have been giving odds on who could be cast. At present, Freida Pinto (Slumdog Millionaire) is leading the odds race with some bookies giving her 1/1 odds ahead of Zoe Saldana (2/1) and Emma Watson (10/1). Rumors that Rachel Weisz is romantically linked to Craig — and that she has met with director Sam Mendes — have fueled speculation that an announcement of her involvement in the movie is right around the corner. But some fans theorize that Weisz, instead, may be the first female mastermind villain Bond confronts.
So crunching data like an MI6 analyst, we’ve compiled a list of the bookmakers’ odds-on favorites for you, our faithful agents, to vote on.

At 74 years old, Woody Allen's one-movie-a-year output is increasingly impressive, though his latest, You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger seems a little lazy, depicting another tale of sexual politics complicating the lives of a British family (Allen fans might remember the exact same plot line in 2009's Whatever Works, only the setting was New York). A new international trailer shows off the usual jazzy, ensemble dramedy that is the standard for Allen movies. This time his impressive cast includes Josh Brolin, Anthony Hopkins, Naomi Watts, Antonio Banderas, Gemma Jones, Lucy Punch, and Slumdog Millionaire's Freida Pinto. Despite rumors to the contrary, the next Bond girl won't be Freida Pinto or Olivia Wilde. British newspaper The Mirror claimed that Pinto was in negotiations for Bond 23, the upcoming, untitled sequel to 2008's Quantum of Solace, but representatives of the Slumdog Millionaire actress were quick to deny them to India's NDTV.
I would like to confirm that as of today, Freida Pinto has not been approached to be part of the next Bond film. It is of course very flattering to even be rumored to be part of a Bond film but she has certainly not been approached for the role of the next Bond girl opposite Daniel Craig as yet.
Tron: Legacy's Wilde took to her Twitter account to let fans know that she will not play the reported role of a "double-crossing UN worker based in Afghanistan".
Despite the rumors, I have no plans to do Bond, but the internet may be confused as I am doing Cowboys & Aliens with Daniel Craig. fun!
The next Bond is reportedly taking place in Afghanistan with Sam Mendes directing, though none of those details are confirmed. Financial troubles within rights-holder MGM have created a cloud of rumors around Bond 23, and until MGM's assets are auctioned off, producer Michael G. Wilson admitted earlier this year that details of the movie are "up in the air". Posted 03.24.10 by Ryan
Always secretive about his upcoming projects, Woody Allen has released just a little teaser about his next movie, reported in THR. Called You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger, the movie will star Antonio Banderas, Josh Brolin, Anthony Hopkins, Naomi Watts, Gemma Jones, Lucy Punch, and Slumdog Millionaire star Freida Pinto. Punch was called in to replace Nicole Kidman, who dropped out over a schedule conflict.
Not many details so far on the plot, other than it revolves around various members of a family and their mixed-up love lives. Meaining, it's a bit hard at this point to differentiate it from any number of other Allen flicks, except perhaps for the bold title.
Allen recently told the Telegraph that fans can tell ahead of time which of his movies will be good just by what they're called.
I never title a movie until it's finished because if I look at the film and it's no good I don't like to give it an aggressive title, I give it what I call one of my hiding titles — the kind of title that is low-key and promises nothing, so people are less disappointed by it. But if I feel the film is good, I give it an aggressive, confident title and then hope for the best.
Well, this latest title certainly does seem to be promising something. So, if this method really holds any water, Allen's latest movie just might be one of his better efforts. You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger is slated for a fall 2010 release. Posted 10.26.09 by reelz
Variety reports that Woody Allen has chosen British actress Lucy Punch to star in his latest movie, which will be shot in London. Punch replaces Nicole Kidman, who had to withdraw due to a scheduling conflict with John Cameron Mitchell's The Rabbit Hole, which she is starring in and producing. Details of the plot of Allen's movie are unclear, but according to sources, Punch may play an escort similar to the one made famous by the Eliot Spitzer scandal.
Punch's previous credits include Being Julia, Hot Fuzz, Young Americans, and CBS's sitcom The Class She joins a cast that includes Josh Brolin, Anthony Hopkins, Antonio Banderas, Naomi Watts, and Freida Pinto. Posted 05.30.09 by reelz
Fresh off Slumdog's Oscar wins, Freida Pinto has signed on to play an ingenue in an upcoming, untitled Woody Allen film.
Wonder if ScarJo feels slighted by the Wood-man giving some other hot young thing the ingenue role?
The cast of the movie also includes Naomi Watts, Josh Brolin, and Anthony Hopkins. We can only hope this career development doesn't lead Pinto down an annoying ScarJo career path of He's Just Not That Into You proportions. Let us not forget ladies, it takes more than a pretty face and a "Woody-Ingenue Title" to make a career. Posted 02.24.09 by reelz
