Brad Pitt's been wanting to bring the novel Peace Like a River to the big screen since 2002, when his production company Plan B bought the rights. The story follows an 11-year-old boy suffering from severe asthma as he embarks on a journey with his sister and father across the country in search of his older brother, who was charged with murder.
Production on the movie is now underway, with The Help's writer and director, Tate Taylor, helming the project. Pitt spoke about the movie at the Producers Guild Awards on Saturday, explaining the delay to Entertainment Weekly.
The first one was The Departed. The second one was this one, and it's just taken awhile for it to gestate and find the right guy to tell it.
Despite Pitt's enthusiasm for producing, don't expect him in the director's chair any time during his career. When asked if this was a possibility, he responded:
Hell no. Not interested. Not my thing. Posted 01.23.12 by reelz
