Next month, the animation studio that helped us explore the Ice Age and introduced us to many of its "mammoth" denizens will transport us to an all-new world, an inner world largely unseen by man, where tiny warriors combat the evil forces that threaten Mother Nature. When Blue Sky Studio’s Epic debuts in theaters on May 24th, you’ll be able to tag along with a young girl named Mary Katherine (voiced by Amanda Seyfried) as she stumbles upon the secret world of the noble Leafmen and destructive Boggans, but why wait until then? Titan Books has provided Reelz.com with an exclusive look at a new still image from the movie and several pieces of concept art used to bring the evil Mandrake (Christoph Waltz), the heroic Ronin (Colin Farrell), and several and other colorful characters to life on the big screen and we couldn't wait to share them with you. Twentieth Century Fox and Blue Sky Studios have released the first trailer for the animated fantasy Epic (formerly Leaf Men) online. While the movie isn't due in theaters until next year, the studios behind Rio and the Ice Age likely want to spread awareness of their upcoming project before their latest, Ice Age: Continental Drift hits theaters in July.
Very loosely based on the children's book The Leaf Men and the Brave Good Bugs by William Joyce (who co-wrote the upcoming Rise of the Guardians), Epic is a labor of love for director Chris Wedge (Ice Age), who's been working on the movie for years.
The voice cast, includes Beyonce Knowles, Amanda Seyfried, Josh Hutcherson, Colin Farrell, Johnny Knoxville and Aziz Ansari, and was only announced last month. With voice-work probably still being worked out the trailer is filled almost entirely — appropriately and ominously — with the song "The Lightning Strike" from the band Snow Patrol. watch the trailer >> Posted 06.27.12 by Ryan
Anyone who's been regularly attending theaters this summer can tell you that it's been pretty weak on the comedies. Since kicking off with The Hangover 2: New Location, Same Jokes we've had an almost constant string of disappointments, the only real abatement being the girls-gone-Apatow in Bridesmaids — you know it's bad when even the perfunctory Pixar flick is a failure. Luckily, not all is lost yet, and 30 Minutes or Less promises to be the light at the end of this summer's explosive-yet-largely-unfunny summer.

Throughout the marketing campaign for Columbia Pictures' 30 Minutes or Less, it seems that the red band or restricted material is usually what has best represented the movie's humor. The latest restricted clip is no exception, highlighting some of the movie's funniest (though NSFW) moments.
Directed by Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland), 30 Minutes or Less stars Jesse Eisenberg as an ambitionless pizza delivery guy who is forced to rob a bank by two slacker criminals (Danny McBride and Nick Swardson) who strap a bomb to his chest. Eisenberg enlists the help of his ex-best friend, played by Aziz Ansari (Parks and Recreation). That's two pairs of buddies in a buddy comedy, something that McBride, in an interview with Movieline, explained was part of the appeal for him. more from McBride and the video clip >> Posted 08.09.11 by Ryan
Director Ruben Fleischer's debut movie, Zombieland, dealt with the end of the world with humorous results, while his follow-up deals with perhaps the ending of one man's world.
30 Minutes or Less stars Jesse Eisenberg as a slacker pizza delivery driver who is strapped with a bomb and forced to rob a bank by two criminal slackers (Danny McBride and Nick Swardson). Eisenberg enlists his former best friend and school teacher (Aziz Ansari) for help, as seen in the movie's first preview clip.
Ansari, known to audiences for his role as Tom Haverford on NBC's Parks & Recreation, told MTV that his 30 Minutes or Less role was his biggest movie role yet. "Usually I'll be around for a few minutes," said Ansari. "And then they're like, 'Just say something about your penis and get out of here.'" It also meant that shooting the movie was a while lot more complicated work.

The car chase we did in 30 Minutes took, like, a few days. It was a lot of sitting in the car and waiting for things to happen. And then I watched Fast Five, and I was like, "How did this movie not take 20 years to make? It's just one big car chase!" Did Vin Diesel start making this when he was 5?
After Ruben Fleischer made his debut with Zombieland, the director quickly found himself the target of multiple job offers, including Mission: Impossible 4, but opted to make the comedy 30 Minutes or Less his Zombieland follow-up. The first official photo for the movie has been released, as well as the movie's synopsis, which can be seen below.
In the action-comedy 30 Minutes or Less, Nick (Jesse Eisenberg) is a small town pizza delivery guy whose mundane life collides with the big plans of two wanna-be criminal masterminds (Danny McBride and Nick Swardson). The volatile duo kidnaps Nick and forces him to rob a bank. With mere hours to pull off the impossible task, Nick enlists the help of his ex-best friend, Chet (Aziz Ansari). As the clock ticks, the two must deal with the police, hired assassins, flamethrowers, and their own tumultuous relationship.
30 Minutes or Less was written by Matthew Sullivan and Michael Diliberti, and was produced by Ben Stiller and his Red Hour production company. 30 Minutes or Less opens August 12. Posted 01.06.11 by Ryan
Jesse Eisenberg is quickly becoming one of the busiest young actors in Hollywood today. Eisenberg was already building a decent resume before starring as Columbus in director Ruben Fleischer's hit action-comedy Zombieland, and since then his stock has continued to rise. Eisenberg just appeared with Michael Douglas in Solitary Man, he is currently starring in Holy Rollers, and he has completed work on a half-dozen other movies that are awaiting release. Eisenberg also plans on reprising the role of Columbus in Zombieland 2, but before that he will re-team with Fleischer in the new comedy 30 Minutes or Less. The Funny People viral campaign keeps chugging along, following up the website for Aziz Ansari's character Randy with a new documentary about the fictional, Dane Cook-ish stand-up comedian. The documentary follows Randy's fast rise in the stand-up world and shows some of his enterprising marketing techniques.
The documentary mentions Randy as having a "cameo" in the movie and, as hilarious as the documentary is, there's no telling how big Ansari's role will be. So far, he hasn't made any of the previews, including the latest TV spot: Posted 07.14.09 by Ryan
The viral campaign for Funny People started with a fictional TV show starring Jason Schwartzman's character called Yo, Teach. Next was a website for Adam Sandler's comedian character George Simmons, including clips from his "movies." The latest entry is another fictional website, this time for Aziz Ansari's character the "superstar comic" Randy Soudha, who is a mix of Dane Cook's antics and Eddie Murphy's material.
The website includes a bio, an interactive soundbyte mixing board, and videos of Ansari – sorry, Raaaandy – performing standup (Warning: the clips are funny, but not work-friendly). Posted 07.02.09 by Ryan
