Since the very first trailer for the upcoming period drama War Horse debuted in March, subsequent marketing has screamed one thing: "Oscar!" From the sweeping score by multiple Academy Award winner John Williams to the World War I setting and touching story about a horse and its owner (Jeremy Irvine) derived from the play adaptation of the children's novel by Michael Morpurgo, this movie is destined for Academy Award noms. And it doesn't hurt that it was directed by Steven Spielberg.
Two new TV spots shows the movie's Oscar potential to the public, with one spot devoted to the movie's epic story that sweeps through war-torn England and Europe to an extended spot that mixes footage of the movie with interviews with the cast, including Irvine, Emily Watson, Tom Hiddleston, Benedict Cumberbatch and David Thewlis. watch the spots >>
