A story about the trials and tribulations of high school. But without all the singing.
A new trailer has arrived online for Struck By Lightning, otherwise known as "the movie Glee's Chris Colfer wrote and stars in." Clearly, Colfer is trying to forge his own path from TV to movies, and his big screen debut could find success due to an appealing cast (Bridesmaids' Rebel Wilson, Modern Family's Sarah Hyland and Mad Men's Christina Hendricks to name a few) and its familiarity to Colfer's hit TV show.
For his big screen debut (Glee the 3D Concert Movie notwithstanding), Colfer returns to high school to play overachiever Carson, who is desperate to get into Northwestern and ends up blackmailing his fellow students to help him write a literary magazine in order to improve his chances. If it sounds similar to Glee, it may be because Colfer wrote it while working on the show. "I honestly wrote this script on set on Glee, in between scenes, in between lighting setups on set," Colfer admitted to IndieWire in April. "Which doesn’t seem like a lot of time, but we’re there so much it actually was quite a bit of time to sit down and write. I just wrote it on set."the absolute latest in trailers

The rumors have been swirling for months, but now it's official. Johnny Depp and French songstress Vanessa Paradis are no longer together. A rep for the actor told CNN that the two have "amicably separated." Depp and Paradis were together for fourteen years and have two children together.
Charlie Sheen is baring it all in the July/August double issue of Playboy. Only instead of disrobing, Sheen opens up about last year's very public meltdown. He told the magazine that last year he had just said the things he had always been thinking, but unfortunately he said them "in the middle of a psychotic break." He also stated that lashing out against former costar Jon Cryer was wrong, and that Cryer is a "beautiful man and a f--ing fabulous dude." And as to having Adonis DNA? Sheen now admits "that was just stupid. That went a little far."
It looks like Glee's Chris Colfer is now officially a quadruple threat. In addition to being an accomplished actor, singer, and dancer, he is also a screenplay writer. His indie movie, Struck by Lightning, is going to get a theatrical release later this year. The movie premiered at this year's Tribeca Film Festival.

When he's not starring in FOX's hit TV-series Glee, writing children's books or touring, 21-year-old Chris Colfer finds time to pen screenplays. His debut to film is a coming-of-age story entitled Struck By Lightning which Colfer wrote and starred in and is expected to be released sometime this fall.
Although filming nearly just wrapped, Colfer has already begun writing a new script which he plans to start shooting this summer.
He told E!'s Marc Malkin:
I actually had to do research on this one, I couldn't just pull it out of my ass. I had to do a lot of research.
In the meantime, make sure to watch Colfer as the male fashionista, Kurt, on Glee airing on FOX Tuesdays. Posted 01.19.12 by reelz
