Leprechauns, ruined birthdays, and home school taunting.
Romantic comedy anthologies are becoming rather popular these days, particularly ones that revolve around a particular holiday, but comedy anthologies are a hard thing to come by — 2007's The Ten comes to mind as does the classic Kentucky Fried Movie — but coming early next year is Movie 43, which stars almost the entirety of Hollywood and has a director list almost as long. In fact, it's hard to believe there are some actors and directors that aren't associated with Movie 43.
Revealed in just the red band trailer alone, Chris Pratt and Anna Faris share a romantic(?) moment; Halle Berry ruins a blind kid's birthday; Terrence Howard reminds a basketball team of the advantage they have; Liev Schreiber and Naomi Watts decide to give their home-schooled son an authentic high school experience; Emma Stone checks in on Kieran Culkin's STD; and Seann William Scott and Johnny Knoxville capture a leprechaun (Gerard Butler). That's not all, of course, Chloe Grace Moretz, Richard Gere, Hugh Jackman and Kate Winslet also appear in the very NSFW trailer, which does its very best to be as outrageous and offensive as possible.movie trailers and more

On Friday evening, Nicole Polizzi, better known as Snooki, tweeted that she was "a balloon ready to pop," and early Sunday morning she popped. At 3 a.m. Sunday Snooki and her fiance, Jionni LaValle, welcomed 6-pound 5-ounce baby boy Lorenzo "Enzo" Dominic LaValle into the world. A rep for Snooks made the announcement by telling MTV that "the world just got another Guido" and that mama, baby and dad were all doing great. Both parents took to Twitter with their new baby excitement with Snooki tweeting "HE'S MY WORLD!" and "being a mom is an amazing feeling." Meanwhile, new daddy Jionni LaValle compared the birth of his son to hanging out with his friends, tweeting "ill never forget old high school memories or the vacations I been on with my boys, I will also never forget 8/26/12 the day my son was born!" Going on vacation and welcoming your firstborn to the world are pretty comparable, right?
After Lance Armstrong decided to stop fighting the US Anti-Doping Agency's charges that he used performance-enhancing drugs, he was stripped of his Tour de France titles, but he has not been dropped by his sponsors. Nike, Anheuser-Busch, and Oakley sunglasses have all said they will stand by Armstrong despite the controversy. Other sponsors such as Trek Bicycle Corp, and 24-Hour Fitness have yet to make a decision and are still monitoring the situation. Experts believe that his work in raising money for cancer research, including the $470 million that Livestrong has made, will help to diminish the impact of the doping allegations on Armstrong's image and career. The Lance Armstrong Foundation actually reported a spike in donations on Friday, following the news of the USADA's decision, and said they had seen a huge outpouring of support for the disgraced athlete. Carrie Underwood's fourth album, Blown Away, debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. This is the third straight first-place debut album for the American Idol alum. Releasing an album just as Idol is ramping up for its finale is looking like an awfully good marketing strategy for the country singer. Posted 05.10.12 by Mandy
Whether he's shooting his competitors during a relay race or spilling ashes on Ryan Seacrest before the Oscars, there's been plenty to enjoy about Sacha Baron Cohen's portrayal of Supreme Leader Shabazz Aladeen. As for a trailer, though, the fictional dictator of the fictional Middle Eastern country of Wadiya hasn't been seen since Paramount released a Super Bowl ad in February... Until now.
The studio just released a feature-length trailer for The Dictator that's perhaps more revealing than audiences would like. So far, The Dictator's promotional footage has managed to do a good job of introducing Baron Cohen as Aladeen while balancing a ridiculous, yet still dark, tone. The new trailer, though, reveals a plot twist that — while it explains what Anna Faris is doing in the movie — gives away plot details that perhaps should have been saved for the theater. watch the trailer >> Posted 03.28.12 by Ryan

Actor Topher Grace famously lampooned the 1970s as the star of the hit TV series That '70s Show, and now he's prepared to do the same thing to the '80s as the star of Take Me Home Tonight (formerly Young Americans), a new nostalgia comedy from '70s Show writers Jeff and Jackie Filgo.
Take Me Home Tonight tells the story of three friends on the verge of adulthood who attend an out-of-control party one night in the waning days of the summer 1988. The neon-tastic first poster for the movie was recently released and now the official synopsis and trailer for the movie are also online. read the synopsis and watch the trailer >> Posted 12.16.10 by BrentJS

This animated adaptation of a popular kids book is voiced by Bill Hader, Anna Faris, James Caan, and ... Mr. T! We pity the fool critic who doesn't like this movie.
"...an exuberant comedy with sleek animation and a kicky script."

"With its giant hamburgers and ice cream snowflakes falling from the sky, Ron and Jodi Barrett's classic children's book Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs imaginatively expanded its prepubescent audience's sense of wonder and possibility. Now a 3-D animated film, adapted to the screen by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, Cloudy looks to work similar magic on a new generation."
— Adam Keleman, Slant Magazine
"...goes down easy enough at first. But even at a svelte 81 minutes, this meal drags on too long..."

"I've seen a lot of 3-D recently, and in terms of technical quality, this is the best."

The co-star of Seth Rogen's latest vehicle, Observe and Report, Anna Faris turned heads at last night's premiere in Los Angeles. An actress since the age of 9, Faris has appeared in more than a dozen feature films, including the four Scary Movie movies, and with two comedic performances alongside Ryan Reynolds in Waiting and Just Friends. Faris appeared in several episodes during the final season of Friends and she received wider recognition as an actress following her appearnce in Brokeback Mountain.
Written and directed by Jody Hill, Observe and Report also stars Ray Liotta (Revolver) and features an appearance by up-and-coming comedic actor Danny McBride (Eastbound and Down). While superficially similar to Kevin James' latest project, Paul Blart: Mall Cop, Observe and Report has been described as a darker, more mature film, with Rogen commenting:
They're totally different movies.
Observe and Report synopsis courtesy of Warner Bros.:
At the Forest Ridge Mall, Head of security Ronnie Barnhardt (SETH ROGEN) patrols his jurisdiction with an iron fist. The master of his domain, he combats skateboarders, shoplifters and the occasional unruly customer while dreaming of the day when he can swap his flashlight for a badge and a gun.
Ronnie's delusions of grandeur are put to the test when the mall is struck by a flasher. Driven by his personal duty to protect and serve the mall and its patrons, Ronnie seizes the opportunity to showcase his underappreciated law enforcement talents on a grand scale, hoping his solution to the crime will earn him a coveted spot at the police academy and the heart of his elusive girl Brandi (ANNA FARIS), the hot makeup counter clerk who won't give him the time of day.
But his single-minded pursuit of glory launches a turf war with the equally competitive Detective Harrison (RAY LIOTTA) of the Conway Police, and Ronnie is confronted with the challenge of not only catching the flasher, but getting him before the real cops do. Posted 04.08.09 by BrentJS
MTV News is reporting that Harry Potter producer David Heyman revealed plans to do Yes Man, another new movie with Jim Carrey. Peyton Reed (The Break-Up) will be directing, says The Hollywood Reporter.
The comedy, based on a memoir by Danny Wallace, will be about a down-and-out guy who decides to turn his life around by saying 'Yes' to everything. It will be a return to old-school Carrey humor, says Heyman. This is in addition to the FIVE other projects Carrey has on the horizon.
MTV is also reporting that several female stars have been added to the roster of the yet-to-be-named upcoming Adam Sandler comedy about a Playboy bunny who gets kicked out of Hef's mansion and has to move into an uncool UCLA sorority. Sandler et al. just added American Idol loser Katherine McPhee and Bruce Willis' and Demi Moore's daughter Rumer Willis to the cast. McPhee will play a "pregnant hippie" and the young Willis will play a "sorority loser."
And speaking of the great robed one, The Guardian is reporting that Leonardo DiCaprio is in talks to star in a Hugh Heffner biopic. The drama, entitled Playboy, will be directed by Brett Ratner (X-Men: The Last Stand).
DiCaprio must be a fan of playing guys with 'Hugh' somewhere in their name. Posted 07.13.07 by reelz
