A comedy that explores when neighbors get too close.
David and Paige Walling (Hugh Laurie and Catherine Keener) are best friends with Terry and Cathy Ostroff (Oliver Platt and Allison Janney) in their New Jersey suburb. When Nina Ostroff (Leighton Meester) comes home for Thanksgiving with her engagement a bust, her parents hope to set her up with their neighbors' son Toby Walling (Adam Brody), only it's the elder Walling that Nina has her eyes on. Once Nina and David's affair becomes public, the movie's red band (NSFW) trailer shows that just about everybody goes into meltdown mode as they wrestle with their emotions over the news. watch the green band trailer >> Posted 09.12.12 by Ryan
A boy shielded from knowledge of his birth and extraordinary powers until adolescence, when he's sent to a special school and discovers a world of fantastical creatures and two best friends (a somewhat clueless guy and a smart girl). A book series that's sold millions worldwide and, despite its young adult category, has legions of devoted fans of all ages. A big-budget movie adaptation of the first book helmed by Chris Columbus. Sound familiar?
On the surface, Percy Jackson and the Olympians could be seen as Harry Potter 2.0, and that's a comparison the studio is certainly not shying away from. Heck, a lightening bolt (in the hero's hand rather than on his forehead) figures prominently in the first poster. And from the cast list, it's clear that Columbus has taken a page from Harry Potter, selecting an A-List cast for the adult roles and relative unknowns for the students.
But here the universe is half-bloods, Greek gods, monsters, and a few mortals. Find out who's playing the main characters in Meet the Cast of Percy Jackson. Posted 11.13.09 by reelz
Variety writes that Clive Owen and Catherine Keener have agreed to star in Trust, an upcoming drama being directed by David Schwimmer. Owen and Keener will play the parents of a 14-year-old girl victimized by an online sexual predator. Liana Liberato, who already has several TV credits, will portray the daughter in her first movie.
Schwimmer authored the story, which is being scripted by Andy Bellin. This will be Schwimmer's second feature as a director. He also helmed the 2007 comedy Run Fatboy Run, which he co-wrote with Simon Pegg (Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead) and Michael Ian Black (Michael & Michael Have Issues, The State). In addition, Schwimmer directed the TV comedy series Little Britain USA, as well as several episodes of Friends.
Trust begins shooting a couple weeks from now in Michigan. No release date has been set. Posted 10.15.09 by reelz
We're all excited about Spike Jonze's upcoming adaptation of the classic children's book Where the Wild Things Are, especially after the book's author Maurice Sendak gave Jonze his full endorsement and glowing approval in a very titillating behind-the-scenes featurette.
And now, here's something to get everyone even more excited: We Love You So recently posted a sneak peak at the cover that will grace the latest issue of Filter Magazine.
The cover, which was illustrated by Geoff McFetridge, looks appropriately trippy. According to the post, the Filter issue will feature interviews with Jonze and actors Catherine Keener, Catherine O'Hara, and Max Records, as well as some photos and art from the set and crew. Posted 09.04.09 by reelz
