"What's a dirty bomb, bro?"
The end of the world is everywhere these days — at least, in pop culture. Apocalyptic TV shows like Revolution and The Walking Dead have scored huge ratings on their respective networks, while, earlier this month, zombie rom-com Warm Bodies opened in first place on its opening weekend.
While no zombies have taken over the world, the apocalypse is again the subject of the upcoming comedy It's a Disaster, which follows eight couples who get together for a weekend brunch only to discover that dirty bombs have been dropped in the nearest city and the couples are trapped inside the house, unsure of what's going on outside. Don't worry, it is a comedy, sporting such comedic luminaries as David Cross (Arrested Development, Mr. Show), Erinn Hayes (Children's Hospital) and America Ferrera (Ugly Betty) to go along with Julia Stiles (The Bourne Identity, Dexter) and Rachel Boston (Ghosts of Girlfriends Past). As seen in the movie's first trailer, the result is a dark take on what the apocalypse will do to friendship.
