Yesterday, Marvel Studios released a short preview teaser of their Cinematic Universe "Phase Two" which starts next month with Iron Man 3 and will end with The Avengers 2 in 2015. The teaser included a little footage of Iron Man 3, but the full, nearly five minute "Phase Two" preview not only offers a longer look at Iron Man 3 (including interviews with Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Ben Kingsley and director Shane Black) but the rest of the "Phase Two" movies as well.
Behind-the-scenes footage is revealed from Thor: The Dark World, with director Alan Taylor (HBO's Game of Thrones) explaining that Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) will join Thor (Chris Hemsworth) in Asgard, while concept art from Captain America: The Winter Soldier is revealed and directors Anthony and Joe Russo discuss what's in store for Cap (Chris Evans) in the sequel. Even Guardians of the Galaxy gets a mention, with more concept art revealed and director James Gunn briefly talks about the "space epic" before the real treat of the "Phase Two" preview is revealed: a few seconds of director Edgar Wright's test footage for 2015's Ant-Man, all before Joss Whedon can end the preview with a brief update of what's happening with The Avengers 2. watch the preview >> Posted 04.03.13 by Ryan
A new look at Marvel's not-serious, "techno-thriller."
Ever since the first trailer arrived for the highly-anticipated sequel Iron Man 3, fans have been clamoring for more footage for further explanation of how exactly The Mandarin (Ben Kingsley) is destroying Tony Stark's (Robert Downey Jr.) life. The sequel appears to be a shift in tone from the previous installments, but Marvel president of Production Kevin Feige insists Iron Man 3 is not a "serious" movie.
"It's not a serious movie, but we seriously dig into exploring more of Tony," Feige told The West Australian (via ComingSoon). "The trick is just trying to make great movies. We try to make them all great, all different and all fresh. What you'll see in Iron Man 3 is some very unique directions that were taken."
The sequel still looks like a serious movie in the recently-revealed Japanese version of the trailer, which offers snippets of new footage.all the latest trailers

Back in late May, just as Marvel's Iron Man 3 was starting production, set photos leaked that revealed someone wearing the Iron Patriot armor from the Marvel comic books. Confusion ensued, as the rights to the Iron Patriot armor seemed to be in question, as the character of Norman Osborn, who wore the armor in the Marvel comic books, is under the umbrella of Sony Pictures, and isn't likely to appear in a Marvel Studios movie. Weeks later, it was reported that the armor was, in fact, a newer version of the armor worn by James "Rhodey" Rhodes, aka War Machine (Don Cheadle). While at the San Diego Comic-Con, Cheadle confirmed that he would be wearing the armor, explaining that it was the "military version" of Iron Man, and that it would provide plenty of "tension" between Rhodey and Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.). read cheacle's comments >> Posted 07.25.12 by Ryan
With Iron Man 3 officially in production, it didn't take long for spoilers to make their way to the web. In fact, set photos of someone (allegedly James Badge Dale) wearing the Iron Patriot armor. This lead to a tremendous outpouring of online speculation, starting with the fact that Dale was set to play cyborg Coldblood and not Iron Patriot. Then the question arose about the Iron Patriot since, in the Marvel comic books, the armor is worn by Norman Osborn, a character owned by Sony, as they hold all the movie rights associated with Spider-Man.
Turns out all that speculation and theorizing may have been for naught — fun as it was for fanboys worldwide — as new information has come to light that would seem to debunk the Iron Patriot spoiler. We feel compelled to warn those trying to avoid spoilers that the information that spoils the Iron Patriot spoilers will only provide more spoilers, even if they aren't confirmed and could in fact be more speculation which could mean that...ok, you get the idea. Audiences have yet to see how Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) will fare in Marvel's upcoming adaptation of The Avengers, but the studio is already planning the superhero's next adventure with 2013's Iron Man 3.
For the third installment, writer-director Shane Black (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang) will take over the director's chair from Jon Favreau — who helmed the two previous Iron Man movies — in what has been described as the start of "phase two" of the Marvel cinematic Universe. Downey Jr. has admitted to reading the Iron Man 3 script, written by Black and Drew Pearce (The Runaways), and said it was "the best I've read in five years".
During an interview with Access Hollywood, Don Cheadle, who played Lt. James "Rhodey" Rhodes, a.k.a War Machine, in Iron Man 2, revealed that he too has seen "a version of the script" and said that audiences should expect an even "more action-packed" Iron Man movie. downey says Iron Man 3 could be the best so far >> Posted 01.17.12 by Ryan
A little over a week ago, it was announced that Denzel Washington was cast in director Robert Zemeckis' Flight, the first live-action movie for Zemeckis (Back to the Future) since 2000's Castaway. More cast members have reportedly booked their ticket.
According to Moviehole, Don Cheadle (Iron Man 2) and Bruce Greenwood (Star Trek) have joined the cast of the upcoming thriller, which sees Washington as a pilot who saves most of the passengers on a commercial airline flight after a malfunction but is eventually investigated after it is discovered that he drank the night before the flight. Cheadle and Greenwood's roles are unspecified at this time.
John Gatins (Real Steel) wrote the script for Flight, which goes into production in Atlanta this October. Kelly Reilly (Sherlock Holmes) is already set to play a drug addict who befriends Washington as they both battle their dependency issues. In January, Don Cheadle confirmed that his Iron Man 2 character, Lt. James "Rhodey" Rhodes, a.k.a War Machine, has a spin-off movie in the works, but he may be seen in a different Marvel movie first. In an interview with Collider, Cheadle mentioned he would appear in Iron Man 3 and revealed the start date for the sequel.
The Avengers too? >> Posted 06.23.11 by Ryan
Well the Iron Man 3 is coming back. We’ll probably do that again in February and there’s talk of a War Machine spinoff, which I guess, unless I get recast, I would probably do.
When Marvel Studios "assembled" the cast of their upcoming The Avengers, there was one notable exception: Don Cheadle. There's a good reason for it, since Cheadle's Iron Man 2 character, Lt. James "Rhodey" Rhodes, a.k.a War Machine, is getting his own movie. Cheadle told MTV about the spin-off while attending the Sundance Film Festival.
They're developing it now, they're working on that. I think they've hired a writer, so we'll see how it goes. It would be a lot of fun.
This is quite the turnaround for Cheadle who said that Iron Man 3 was more likely than a War Machine spin-off.
While Cheadle is happy about a War Machine movie, the actor isn't certain he will show up in The Avengers. "I don't think he shows up in [Avengers]," Cheadle revealed. "I think he's kind of a lone wolf."
The Avengers opens May 4, 2012. A War Machine movie, should it go into production, would likely debut sometimes after that. Posted 01.22.11 by Ryan
