Next month, the animation studio that helped us explore the Ice Age and introduced us to many of its "mammoth" denizens will transport us to an all-new world, an inner world largely unseen by man, where tiny warriors combat the evil forces that threaten Mother Nature. When Blue Sky Studio’s Epic debuts in theaters on May 24th, you’ll be able to tag along with a young girl named Mary Katherine (voiced by Amanda Seyfried) as she stumbles upon the secret world of the noble Leafmen and destructive Boggans, but why wait until then? Titan Books has provided Reelz.com with an exclusive look at a new still image from the movie and several pieces of concept art used to bring the evil Mandrake (Christoph Waltz), the heroic Ronin (Colin Farrell), and several and other colorful characters to life on the big screen and we couldn't wait to share them with you. Your first look at the inevitable first look.
After the enormous success of The Hunger Games, fans will probably be happy to see any amount of footage from the upcoming sequel, Catching Fire. That's fortunate, because the recently released teaser (via MTV) contains only a brief look at the sequel, just enough to see Effie Trinket (Elizabeth Banks) escorting Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta Mallark (Josh Hutcherson) to their introduction as winners of the Hunger Games prior to their "Victory Tour" of the Districts. The entire trailer will debut Sunday, April 14th, during the MTV Movie Awards, so this brief amount of footage will have to suffice for now. watch the teaser >> Posted 04.04.13 by Ryan
"Just because you haven't seen something doesn't mean it's not there."
The first trailer for the upcoming animated fantasy Epic (formerly Leaf Men) arrived in June and offered the first example of the vast yet hidden forest world that director Chris Wedge (Ice Age) had created in his passion project, which he had been trying to make since 2006. Armed with Snow Patrol song "The Lightning Strike" as its driving force, little was heard from the voice cast, with the exception of two comic moments from Aziz Ansari (Parks and Recreation) as a slug and Amanda Seyfried (Mamma Mia!, Dear John) as the human protagonist Mary Katherine. The latest trailer adds more depth while also revealing more from the voice cast (and keeping Snow Patrol around for good measure), which also includes Beyonce Knowles, Colin Farrell and Johnny Knoxville.all the latest trailers

Which Actor Should Play the Last Jedi?
Ever since the announcement that George Lucas had sold Lucasfilm Ltd. to Disney and that the studio was making plans for a new Star Wars movie, the internet has been flooded with so many rumors masquerading as news that it's become nearly impossible to know which of them, if any, are true. The general consensus among the more reputable of news sources is that Star Wars: Episode VII will see the return of the majority of the characters from the original trilogy, including Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia Organa and Han Solo, with Luke's efforts to rebuild the Jedi a primary focus of the plot.
Skywalker himself, Mark Hamill, revealed shortly after the announcement that he had been told by Lucas that a new trilogy was in the works a year before the sale, and he later expressed interested in being involved with it — Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher are also interested in reprising the roles of Solo and Organa, respectively — but it's hard to imagine a 60-something Jedi kicking off a new trilogy (of course, Yoda was closing in on a millenium and that didn't stop him). If Hamill is not going to be headlining the franchise, then who will? Assuming Disney doesn't pull a Clu — Jeff Bridges was digitally rejuvenated to play a younger version of himself in Tron: Legacy — a younger actor will need to be brought in take up the mantle of the last Jedi. Who do you think has what it takes to play Luke Skywalker?

Who should play Peter Parker's best frienemy?
Even though director Marc Webb has expressed some reluctance about leaping right back into the swing of things (pardon the pun) with The Amazing Spider-Man 2 so soon after The Amazing Spider-Man, plans for the sequel are moving right along. We recently learned that Shailene Woodley (The Descendants) has been offered the role of Mary Jane Watson, Peter Parker's college girlfriend and eventual wife in the Marvel comic books and his paramour in the Sam Raimi-directed trilogy. And, only days ago, Academy Award-winner Jamie Foxx (Ray) teased fans by tweeting that he had "dressed up as Electro for Halloween," the villain known to be menacing Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) in the sequel, a bold casting move that Webb seemed to confirm when he later called Foxx an "electrifying" actor.
The only other new character that is known to be appearing in the sequel and that does not yet have an actor's name attached is Harry Osborn, son of Norman Osborn, whose company was directly responsible for the creation of both Spider-Man and the Lizard (Rhys Ifans). In the comic books, as in Raimi's movies, Harry was Peter's friend until his father, wearing the guise of the Green Goblin, is killed during a battle with Spider-Man. Harry then takes up the mantle of the Goblin and sets out to destroy Spider-Man. James Franco got his big break by landing the role of Harry in Raimi's trilogy. Who do you think has what it takes to fill Franco's shoes and go tit for tat with Garfield in the sequel?

It's taken some time — years, actually — but audiences finally have their first look at the remake of Red Dawn with Yahoo's release of the first trailer.
A victim of studio MGM's financial meltdown, Red Dawn was actually shot back in 2009, back before Chris Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson became the respective stars of Thor and The Hunger Games. The remake is still about a group of young kids coming together to protect their town from a foreign invasion, this time from North Korea (after original aggressor China was removed in post-production). The trailer shows that the remake retains much of the explosiveness of the original (both literally and figuratively), with Hemsworth rallying a band of teenagers including Hutcherson, Connor Cruise (Seven Pounds), Adrienne Palicki (the upcoming G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation), Josh Peck (ATM) and even Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Watchmen), who explained in 2010 that he plays "the old man" in the movie. watch the trailer and see the poster >> Posted 08.10.12 by Ryan
The Red Dawn remake was actually shot back in 2009, years before Chris Hemsworth became a comic book hero in Thor and The Avengers and Josh Hutcherson was cast as Peeta Mallark in The Hunger Games. However, MGM's infamous financial troubles kept Red Dawn on the shelf with no release date in sight, until FilmDistrict picked up the remake last year for a planned fall 2012 release.
Like the 1984 original, a group of high school students decide to protect their town against a foreign invasion. Russia was aggressor in the original, while the remake originally intended for China to be the invaders until it was digitally changed to North Korea last year. With Red Dawn's November release still a few months away, FilmDistrict is still promoting the remake with a couple new photos of Hutcherson and Hemsworth in action, and a trailer sneak peek that aired on Enertainment Tonight. see the new photos and trailer sneak peek >> Posted 08.03.12 by Ryan
Twentieth Century Fox and Blue Sky Studios have released the first trailer for the animated fantasy Epic (formerly Leaf Men) online. While the movie isn't due in theaters until next year, the studios behind Rio and the Ice Age likely want to spread awareness of their upcoming project before their latest, Ice Age: Continental Drift hits theaters in July.
Very loosely based on the children's book The Leaf Men and the Brave Good Bugs by William Joyce (who co-wrote the upcoming Rise of the Guardians), Epic is a labor of love for director Chris Wedge (Ice Age), who's been working on the movie for years.
The voice cast, includes Beyonce Knowles, Amanda Seyfried, Josh Hutcherson, Colin Farrell, Johnny Knoxville and Aziz Ansari, and was only announced last month. With voice-work probably still being worked out the trailer is filled almost entirely — appropriately and ominously — with the song "The Lightning Strike" from the band Snow Patrol. watch the trailer >> Posted 06.27.12 by Ryan
It’s the one awards show where Twilight can always be counted on to be an annual contender. Of course, we’re talking about the MTV Movie Awards, and in true fashion the show was as predictable as Charlie Sheen in Las Vegas, with the top awards going to Twilight and the newest teen franchise, The Hunger Games.
Going into the award show, Twi-hard fans were upset that newcomer The Hunger Games received more nominations than Breaking Dawn: Part 1. But the vampire franchise got its due, taking home the golden popcorn for Best Kiss (Kristen Stewart had to accept the award without partner-in-crime Robert Pattinson) and for Movie of the Year. But Katniss and Co. didn’t go home empty handed. Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson both took home individual awards and the movie also won Best Fight. At 21, Jennifer Lawrence has already received an Academy Award nomination (for Winter's Bone) and appeared in a blockbuster comic book movie (X-Men: First Class), but almost nothing will prepare her for the likely loss of her anonymity after the release of The Hunger Games later this week. The adaptation of Suzanne Collins best-selling novel has already sold more advance tickets than any other non-sequel, so the possibility of global fame is not lost on Lawrence, who revealed at a press roundtable attended by HitFix that she considered every angle before accepting the role of Katniss Everdeen. more from lawrence; watch the clips >> Posted 03.21.12 by Ryan
