Josh Radnor's comedy/drama Happythankyoumoreplease made a good impression at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival, where it won the Audience Award and was soon picked up for distribution. Weeks before the movie reached its August release date, the rights were sold to another distributor, leaving the release date in doubt. A new trailer has finally been released for the movie, which is finally going to enter theaters this March.
Written, directed, and starring Radnor (CBS' How I Met Your Mother), Happythankyoumoreplease tells the story of a foster child who alters the life of a struggling novelist and his friends. read the synopsis and watch the trailer >> Posted 01.13.11 by Ryan
While Christian Bale and Michael Caine will definitely appear in The Dark Knight Rises, director Christopher Nolan's follow-up to The Dark Knight, Nolan has been taking his time filling two female roles in the upcoming sequel. In November, Nolan compiled a shortlist of actresses that he planned to meet with for either a love interest or villain role. The list included Rachel Weisz, Naomi Watts, Blake Lively, Natalie Portman, Anne Hathaway and Keira Knightley, but latest shortlist includes several new names, with only two repeats. who's up for the roles? >> Posted 01.12.11 by Ryan
Say you're director Jon Favreau. Iron Man was a huge critical and box-office success, so how do you top it with the sequel? First, you double the number of villains (enter Whiplash and Justin Hammer). Then you crank up the action. And last, but not least, you add a bunch more hot chicks.
While the original certainly had its fair share, the sequel takes hotness to the next level in a way that makes Gwyneth Paltrow (Pepper Potts) and Scarlett Johansson (Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow) look ordinary by comparison. News that actress Kate Mara had joined the cast of Iron Man 2 arrived last April. However, details of what role she was to play remained sketchy. Rumors persisted that she was playing a S.H.I.E.L.D. operative alongside Samuel L. Jackson, while IMDb has the actress playing Iron Man's friend and former girlfriend Bethany Cabe.
Mara offered Movieline a few details about her role, namely that she is "not playing" Cabe.
I am in Iron Man 2. I'm only in one scene, though, and it's not Bethany Cabe. I think Bethany Cabe in the comic book has red hair and they were like, well, Kate must be playing her. Just check it out. I did it because they were like, "Do you want to work with Robert Downey Jr. and Jon Favreau?" I was like, "I'll say one word and I'm fine!" So there you go.
In a conversation with MTV, Mara revealed that her scene does involve both Downey Jr. as Tony Stark and Favreau as Happy Hogan. When she was pressed to reveal whether her role had anything to do with law enforcement, Mara remained mysterious.
It's something like that. Posted 01.26.10 by Ryan
When Iron Man actor Terrence Howard was surprisingly replaced by Don Cheadle for Iron Man 2, money was rumored to be the problem. With Iron Man 2 already shooting, Howard spoke with Parade about what really happened:
Marvel made a choice, and it was a very, very bad choice. They didn't keep their word. They didn't honor my contract. They produced a great bounty with the first one but they put it all in the storehouse and you were not allowed in. They did the same thing with Gwyneth Paltrow, from what I've been told. They did it with almost everyone except Robert Downey [Jr.]. One of the things that actors need to learn to do is always stick together, one for all and all for one.
Howard has also seen the script for Iron Man 2 but won't elaborate:
I've seen the script, I know what's going to happen, but I'm not revealing anything. I believe in karma. When someone does something wrong, you don't have to get them back. Everything right will return the favor for you.
Perhaps karma will have Howard replace Cheadle for Iron Man 3 where Mandarin is rumored to be the villain, perhaps played by Iron Man actor Faran Tahir. Tahir won't be in Iron Man 2, but Clark Gregg (returning as S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Coulson) and Kate Mara (in an unknown role) will be, having been recently added to the cast. Posted 04.26.09 by Ryan
