In a recent interview with the L.A. Times, hunky werewolf actor Alex Meraz (Paul) talked about his character in third installment Eclipse.
He mentions one scene in particular, which, due to Bella's first person narrative, was never fully shown in the book. The scene consists of a fight between wolf Paul and vampire Emmett Cullen (Kellan Lutz), and will be seen in the upcoming movie adaptation. Meraz said of the fight:
"The fans are going to love this film. I didn't get my chance to touch anybody in New Moon. This time I go at it with Emmett. I give him a nice bitch slap. But I'm in wolf form, so maybe it's a big paw slap? Oh, and there's a lot more action. It's more Paul wolf. You're going to see my wolf form doing a lot ofstuff. You'll just see me running around shirtless once and a while."
This is just one of the reasons The Twilight Saga translates to the big screen so well—due to Stephenie Meyer's epic page counts, there are always unseen scenes to adapt, and a truckload of happy fans left in their wake. Do you think Eclipse is going to be the best saga movie so far? Let us know your thoughts in the comments. Posted 05.06.10 by reelz
An early image of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse oversized 2011 calendar shows the cast as we've never seen them before — or in slightly different poses, at least.
Jacob (Taylor Lautner) looks mean and buff, while Edward (Robert Pattinson) seems his usual concerned self. It's no wonder Bella (Kristen Stewart) looks a tad stressed out — she's got a lot to contend with. If she's not choosing between vampires and werewolves, she's running from porcelain doll look-alike Victoria (Bryce Dallas Howard), and dodging creepy child vampire Jane (Dakota Fanning). It's hard being a mortal in Forks.
And let's not forget Jasper (Jackson Rathbone) who, to be honest, looks like he's seen much better days. We're not sure who styles his hair, but it's steadily getting worse with each movie. Look on the bright side — at least he doesn't resemble a meathead Jock gone wrong, unlike poor Emmett (Kellan Lutz). Be grateful for small mercies. Posted 04.21.10 by reelz
Twilight heartthrob Kellan Lutz may have lost out on his chance at the lead in director Marcus Nispel's Conan reboot, but it appears he might soon be trading up from barbarian to gladiator anyway. According to THR, Lutz and Samuel L. Jackson are in negotiations to star in the indie action movie Deathgames from Motion Picture Corporation of America, the company's first project to come out of its $50 million movie fund.
Deathgames will be the directorial debut of Jonah Loop, who comes from a visual effects background. Loop, Michael Hultquist, Robert Martinez and Tony Giglio all contributed to the script about a young man (Lutz) who is kidnapped and forced to compete in a deadly gladiator event for the amusement of an online audience. Jackson would play the sinister man orchestrating the event from his computer hideout. Production is expected to begin next month in Louisiana. Posted 04.20.10 by BrentJS
Director Marcus Nispel's (Pathfinder) reboot of the Conan franchise is less than two months away from its intended production start in Bulgaria, yet there have been no cast announcements made. In fact, other than a leaked character casting list, there has been virtually no news about this project.
The producers may be zeroing in on a few potential candidates for the role of Robert E. Howard's Cimmerian barbarian, however. Only days ago, Deadline reported that New Moon star Kellan Lutz and Jason Momoa of TV's Stargate: Atlantis were in the running for the lead, along with a third, "unnamed but better established actor." Then, celebrity site JustJared claimed that "sources" had revealed that Jared Padalecki of the popular TV series Supernatural was that third actor being considered for the role.
Nu Image/Millenium and Lionsgate are partnering to produce the as-yet-untitled Conan movie. Screenwriters Thomas Dean Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer each wrote drafts of the screenplay, though it's unclear which version will be used for production. Posted 01.17.10 by BrentJS
Kellan Lutz will have a busy 2010 with A Nightmare on Elm Street and playing Emmet Cullen in The Twlight Saga: Eclipse, however Lutz told The Dishrag that he'd like to keep busy by joining a couple other movie franchises.
I'm making this checklist as an actor. Right now I just really want to be part of the Bourne franchise and the more I say that, maybe Matt Damon will read it and it and maybe I can play his brother.
Lutz would like to play a superhero as well.
I'd love to be Captain America someday.
Should Lutz not get cast in those dream projects, he has a variety of other projects in his future.
Most are action films and a couple of romantic comedies and I'm just thrilled with all the scripts. Posted 12.12.09 by Ryan
Kellan Lutz may be pretty busy as Emmet Cullen in The Twlight Saga, but he still found time to play a role in the upcoming remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street. Lutz joked to About.com that he may take over a surprise role.
It's great. I kill Jackie Earle Haley and take away his glove and sweater — the sweater itches.
Lutz will actually play Dean, one of Freddy's potential victims, and while he didn't give out any spoilers, he did promise that the movie will be scary.
It's really cool to be a part of something that now, since all our minds are so corrupted with blood, guts and gore, that this generation, it takes something special to scare our generation now. It's revamped. And where 10 years ago, someone just knocking on the door, you're like "Oh, w-who is that?" You know, what Nightmare on Elm Street is gonna show, it's scary. If you guys haven't seen the trailer, you know, how it's shot and the things that you will see from the movie will scare you. And it's a great psychological thriller.
Lutz was apparently pretty comfortable making the movie, having grown up watching the previous Nightmare flicks.

It's such a blessing to be a part of something that for me, I grew up with. And a lot of things scared me growing up — mainly my brothers picking on me. But as far as Jason or Chucky, I had a Chucky doll, like those things didn't scare me. But Freddy Krueger, there's something... it's this psychological thriller that can take you in your dreams, you know? It's something that you can't physically take care of on your own.
Kellan Lutz, the man behind "monkey man" Emmett Cullen, spoke to MTV about The Twilight Saga and how each director has brought something new to the franchise.
On the subject of differences within the saga, Lutz had this to say about directors Catherine Hardwicke, Chris Weitz, and David Slade:
Catherine Hardwicke was very energetic, and she made this beautiful movie. Chris Weitz had this really cool, really laid-back vibe, but has a great sense of how to do CGI and how to make these wolves look real and bigger than life versus just some computerized image. Then David Slade, with his action background and his indie style, just mixed the two. The movies are going to be unique in their own aspects, and that's what's really interesting — it's not the same director doing each one. We, as actors, got to see different styles of directing. So it doesn't feel old, ever.
When asked about his favorite New Moon scene, he replied with an answer sure to please the many fans of Charlie Swan and Billy Burke.
My favorite scene is probably anything that Charlie is in, played by Billy Burke. He just has this great comedic timing, and every scene with him, I get a laugh out of. And there's just tons of action. That's the thing too, seeing the wolves actually fight each other and roughhouse. It's really interesting to see what Chris did.
So, Twilighters, what's your take on the saga's directors? Who's your favorite? Do you think they'll do a good job bringing the characters to life? Let us know in the comments. Posted 10.27.09 by reelz
Last night on the Teen Choice Awards red carpet, Kellan Lutz (Emmett Cullen) joked that it's "Rob's hair" that's the secret to the movie series' overwhelming success with teenagers.
But is it a joke? We can't think of a more famous head of hair since Rapunzel, star of the German fairy tale.
Last year RPattz spilled the secret to the shiny, disheveled 'do with high-hold: wash it once every six weeks. Posted 08.11.09 by reelz
Bound and determined to not be out-abbed by Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, Kellan Lutz put on a push-up display for Twilighters in Atlanta, and we have to say, these are some of the most athletic-looking push-ups we've ever seen. Posted 08.07.09 by reelz
With New Moon shooting now complete, some stars of the vampire saga are appearing in Vancouver, Canada to start work on Eclipse. Entertainmentwise has spied the Cullen clan's Kellan Lutz, Nikki Reed, and Ashley Greene at Vancouver International Airport, as well as newcomers Bryce Dallas Howard and Xavier Samuel, the latter doing either a really good JFK Jr. or Robert Pattinson impersonation.
