The 20th Century Fox promotional department has been working overtime on the X-Men prequel X-Men: First Class, releasing — in just the past month — the first TV spot; the English equivalent of a Russian trailer; several international posters, character trailers, and banner ads; and earlier this week three TV spots and the first preview clip from the movie. With so much footage already revealed, we're beginning to wonder if director Matthew Vaughn has anything left to show audiences when First Class opens next month.
That said, there's more new footage found in yet another TV spot and French trailer.
Production on director Matthew Vaughn's X-Men prequel, X-Men: First Class began in September, and the first set photos popped up a week later. With shooting going on for two months now, a new actor has been added to the large ensemble cast. Ray Wise, best known for playing Leland Palmer on the TV show Twin Peaks and the 1992 movie Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me, told IGN that he has been cast in the comic book adaptation.
I'm playing the Secretary of State of the United States. I'll be going over there in the next couple of weeks. I love Matthew. And Bryan Singer's producing it and [it's got] a great cast — James McAvoy, January Jones, Oliver Platt.
