Whether you're looking for a bombastic sci-fi action movie, a "nice little indie (female) buddy comedy" or an (overly) dramatic romance to give you a brief respite from the daily grind, this week's DVD and Blu-ray releases should have something for you. Click the link above to find out what our resident movie expert Richard Roeper thinks about the latest movies to hit the home video market, The Lucky One, Life Happens and Battleship. Though not a movie release, Roeper also offers up a glowing review of The Walking Dead: The Complete Second Season, which he describes as "a great show" that "isn't really a show about zombies" despite the zomb-pocalypse setting of the based-on-a-comic book AMC series.

Dax Shepard's new action-comedy Hit and Run opened with a whimper on Wednesday, but the movie is already on its way to becoming a success because of its miniscule — by modern action movie standards — $2 million budget. But, we know you don't really care how much the movie cost to make or what it made on opening day. What you want to know is whether or not you should go see it this weekend. According to our own Leonard Maltin, Hit and Run is a "breezy, unpretentious and fun to watch" action-comedy. However, our other movie expert, Richard Roeper, is far less generous, describing the movie as "crass" and "mean-spirited." Check out Roeper's review above and decide for yourself whether Hit and Run is a "hit" or whether you should "run" to see a different movie.

After giving us his picks for the best and the worst movies of 2012 (so far), resident movie expert Richard Roeper offers up his selection of this year's must-see movies...that nobody bothered to go to the theater to see. Most of the movies on the list benefited from top-notch acting from odd casting couplings — Jack Black with Shirley Maclaine in Bernie; Seth Rogen with Michelle Williams in Take This Waltz — but suffered because the subject matter was either too off-putting, as in Seeking a Friend for the End of the World, or not marketed properly, as with the "baudy" creation-of-the-vibrator period piece, Hysteria. Roeper discusses director Gary Ross' adaptation of Suzanne Collins' best-selling novel as well as the extras on the disc, which should make fans extra happy about taking a piece of Panem home with them.
