Frankly, we're surprised it's taken this long for the annual Halloween episode of The Simpsons to spoof The Twilight Saga. Perhaps filming for The Deathly Hallows is to blame? Fellow Brit and Goblet of Fire filmmate Daniel Radcliffe plays the skulky Edmund to Robert Pattinson's Edward in "Tweenlight," one of three tales in "Treehouse of Horror XXI."
Lisa becomes smitten with the mysterious new student, who saves her from a careening Springfield Elementary school bus and later bares his soul: "They say vampires live forever, but I die of embarrassment every day." You can check out scenes from the episode intercut with Radcliffe talking about the formative role the series has played in his life ("I hold [the series] entirely responsible for how I turned out." ) in a clip put together by fansite SnitchSeeker.com.

Next Tuesday, October 19, the Apocalypse Now Three-Disc Full Disclosure Edition Blu-ray goes on sale (Apocalypse Now / Apocalypse Now Redux / Hearts of Darkness). Its more than nine hours of bonus material includes interviews with on-screen and behind-the-scenes talent. It also includes audition footage for Laurence Fishburne, who had lied about his age and was only 14 when the movie began shooting. Watch Fishburne's audition below.

With more than 100 movies credits to his name, Tony Curtis had a Hollywood career that was as diverse as it was long. From his appearance in 1949's How to Smuggle a Hernia Across the Border (a farcical short directed by Jerry Lewis), he went on to play roles as diverse and memorable as the comic Joe/Josephine in Some Like It Hot to the battle-determined Antoninus in Spartacus. In a statement released after his death, daughter Jamie Lee Curtis said:
He leaves behind children and their families who loved him and respected him and a wife and in-laws who were devoted to him. He also leaves behind fans all over the world.

The night before Zack Snyder's 3-D adaptation of the popular children's book series by Kathryn Lasky opens in theaters, fans across the country got the chance to screen it and talk with the director. The tale of a fungus destroying cultural treasures and the mad race by scientists to save them. No, it's not the latest thriller set to hit big screens next summer. It's the battle currently underway at the British Film Archive. Two common fungi have been "destroying their films, spreading from reel to reel in the storage facilities."
Mark Bodner, who's responsible for the archive's conservation and preservation, described the scope of history at risk for the BBC News.

Based on the true story of a mountaineer who must amputate his own arm in order to survive a hiking accident in a remote Utah canyon, 127 Hours is considered a potential Oscar contender. The movie, which doesn't open in theaters until November 5, is part of the Toronto Film Festival. ReelzChannel correspondent Matt Mauro saw the movie and has an early review.
