On our last day at Sundance, we interviewed a number of stars from The Romantics, including Elijah Wood, Malin Akerman, and Jeremy Strong. Shooting the movie was like being in college again, they told me. They filmed in a small town with one motel, all staying in rooms down the hall from each other and going to the oyster bar or oyster restaurant.
All in all, we interviewed more than 90 actors and directors, which will be featured in upcoming episodes of Hollywood Dailies and a special Sundance Spotlight. Check out the ReelzChannel TV schedule for more details.

What a first day at Sundance — feels like three or four days of movies were packed into 24 hours. Among the highlights, interviewing Ryan Reynolds. What a nice guy. He's here for his new movie Buried, in which he plays a guy trapped in a coffin with a flashlight and dying cell phone.
On the red carpet for Buried's premiere, I asked Reynolds if he could share any details about Deadpool or Green Lantern.
There is not much to tell except that they are both full steamahead. Green Lantern is actually six weeks out right now, so we are ready.
I also did a bunch of interviews for Please Give and HappyThankYouMorePlease, two great indie movies, and talked with Tyler Labine and Alan Tudyk from Tucker and Dale vs Evil — the comedy/horror flick about hillbillies and your perception of people.
Today's Sundance highlights include The Runaways with Dakota Fanning and Kristen Stewart and John Legend. Tune into Hollywood Dailies starting Monday for our full coverage of Sundance.

Tonight the Hope for Haiti Now telethon airs live on a number of networks at 8 PM ET (5 PM PT), including ReelzChannel. Many of Hollywood's top names have joined this effort to raise funds for the victims and people of Haiti after last week's devastating earthquake. But it's not just the list of performers and presenters that's star-studded, George Clooney told MTV:
You got about 130 to 140 actors, athletes, singers, and television hosts, and they're all coming up not to be on TV, but simply to answer the phones.
All proceeds from the telethon will be split evenly between The Clinton Bush Haiti Fund, United Nations World Food Programme, Oxfam America, Partners in Health, The Red Cross, UNICEF, and the Yele Haiti Foundation. The list of celebrities scheduled for the Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief continues to grow. Recent additions to the actors there to present include Denzel Washington, Halle Berry, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Nicole Kidman. Today, MTV announced that President Bill Clinton, Tom Hanks, Brad Pitt, Robert Pattinson, Will Smith, Julia Roberts, Meryl Streep, and Muhammad Ali have also signed on.
Additionally, Madonna will perform live from New York and Haitian artist Emeline Michel in Los Angeles. They join a lineup of musical performers that includes Wyclef Jean, Bruce Springsteen, Jennifer Hudson, Mary J. Blige, Shakira, Sting, Alicia Keys, Christina Aguilera, Dave Matthews, John Legend, Justin Timberlake, Stevie Wonder, Taylor Swift, Keith Urban, Kid Rock, Sheryl Crow, Beyoncé, Coldplay, Bono, The Edge, Jay-Z, and Rihanna.
Proceeds from the George Clooney–organized telethon will be split evenly between The Clinton Bush Haiti Fund, United Nations World Food Programme, Oxfam America, Partners in Health, The Red Cross, UNICEF, and the Yele Haiti Foundation.

The Hope for Haiti Now telethon will be hosted by George Clooney in Los Angeles, Haiti-born singer Wyclef Jean in New York, and CNN's Anderson Cooper in Haiti. All donations will directly benefit The Clinton Bush Haiti Fund, United Nations World Food Programme, Oxfam America, Partners in Health, The Red Cross, UNICEF, and the Yele Haiti Foundation. It's always been difficult for television actors to make their way from the tube to the big screen. Something about that transition frequently leaves even the biggest TV stars with nothing more than a few flops to their names.
That being said, a few individuals have been able to make that journey — and not just that, they've even won Golden Globes in the process. Next week on Hollywood Dailies, we'll be highlighting a different one of these Crossover Stars every day at 7 pm ET/PT.

TMZ is reporting that Brittany Murphy died of cardiac arrest earlier this morning. The 32-year-old star made her breakthrough opposite Alicia Silverstone in Clueless and went on to star in 8 Mile, Girl, Interrupted, Little Black Book, and Sin City.
Reports claim Murphy's mother discovered her unconscious in the shower at the home of her husband, Simon Monjack. The LA Fire Department says a 911 was placed around 8:00 a.m. and that paramedics administered CPR immediately upon arrival. Murphy remained unresponsive as they transferred her to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. She was pronounced dead on arrival, shortly after 10 a.m.
The LAPD is launching a death investigation, and a representative for Murphy made the following statement:
In this time of sadness, the family thanks you for your love and support. It is their wish that you respect their privacy.

Movie critic and syndicated columnist Richard Roeper makes his debut appearance on Hollywood Dailies tonight. A former co-host with Roger Ebert of At the Movies for eight seasons, Roeper has a syndicated daily column for the Chicago Sun-Times and has written several books on movies. His most recent reviews can be found at richardroeper.com.
As a Hollywood Dailies correspondent, Roeper will contribute two segments each week, a Tuesday DVD pick of the week and a special pop-culture report on Fridays.
