After watching the ill-conceived "House of 1000 Corpses", and thus turned off from watching what I have heard is the better of the two,"The Devil's Rejects", I was upset when I heard that Rob Zombie would be directing the newest installment in the Halloween, a remake of the original Halloween. However, my friends and I love Michaell Meyers and could not wait to see it! Our disappointment was that Rob Zombie, decided that Michael Meyers nightmarish killings had to be seeded in his dysfunctional family, as if serial killers can not come from stable homes. We did enjoy the prequel into Michael's beginning. Malcolm McDowell's Dr. Loomis' revelation that Laurie was Michael's sister! I missed Donald Pleasance's Dr. Loomis throughout. I enjoyed Scout Taylor-Compton's Laurie, however, she was not as strong a screen presence as Jamie Lee Curtis' Laurie. Overall, it was worth the venture into a night with the horror genre's most infamous serial killer and scream queens!
I got a feeling that anyone of you said this movie is better than the sequel.
This remake by far was the best remake I have ever seen!!! Zombie is a genius, his past two films "House of 1000 Corpses" and, "The Devils Rejects" were superb, and shows what kind of creativity, and diabolical twisted mind our writer/director has!!!! I give it a 10!!!!!!
I accidently wrote that. I meant that for the first one
Best slasher movie ever!
I CANT WAIT INTELL THIS CUMMES OUT ON DVD
i thought this movie was really good the actors were phenomenal and i never saw the first one sooo... yeah 10-10
halloween is what it is, a very good movie. i'm a huge fan of michael myers and i just needed to see what this was all about. with rob zombie directing i kinda figured i was going to like it. you could see robs traits all up in the movie. that's how he does it, and that craziness that he brings makes you kind of squirm. good job no doubt. overall the whole childhood thing in the beginning was great. the trashy, unstable, and i don't give a damn family was very well portrayed. it was the ending that i really didn't like. there should have been more, and it went by to damn fast. it's a remake so you can't help but compare this one to the old one, and this one fell short at the end. there wasn't enough to make me cringe, or freak me out. another biggy was his walk. he walked to fast. that's the thing about michael, he's the boogyman, and no matter how slow he walks he's always right behind you. other than that, it was tight.
I saw this two weeks ago and left the theater loving it. Everything minus the ending, which gave me a feeling of unfulfillment, was awesome.
Need to finish - he really pulled it off as far as I was concerned -- scary, tense, and not a whole lot of blood spatter, which helped on the gore factor. It was good enough for us to go see it again. Thanks, Rob, for a excellent movie -- can't wait to buy it on DVD.
I saw the movie yesterday with my adult daughter and I was very impressed. It scared the crap out of both of us. It looked kind of white trashy at first, but it was set back in the 70s, and his mom was a stripper with a loser boyfriend. Rob Zombie's wife is a pretty decent actress and I loved her portrayal. The kid was awesome - scary at 10!! But the clincher was when they first showed Michael as an adult - that scared the sh** right out of us!! Big, fast and scary - what great casting!!
We were a little worried at first about Rob being the director, but, I tell you what -- he really pulled
