Half of the 10 ratings on here were published before the movie even came out! FYI...this is a movie review site, not a Harry Potter fanboy site. Gave a 1 to balance out the fake 10's. This rates about a 5-6 in my book while I would rate previous Potter movies an 8-9.. This movie was such a huge disappointment. By far the worst of the series (which i very much have enjoyed) to date. Yates is wrecking the end of the Potter series. No continuity of plot and characters, and very little suspense. Much to dark and disjointed. Special effects were basically non-existent and I was very disappointed in the lack of character development. If this were the first in the series,there wouldn't have been any more. Sorry I spent a $5 to rent this when I could have easily waited for it to come out on Starz.
I saw this at the midnight showing, and it was well, well worth it! The best acting, lighting, cinematography, wardrobe, sound and visual effects of the summer! This was really, in my opinion, the best movie of 2009 so far.
the best of all the movies
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince was a great movie until the ending in which they cut out the whole battle at Hogwarts. Now I just want to see how they wrap up this series. I read that a lot of characters from previous movies will be appearing in the two-part seventh installment. It is also rumored that John Williams might return to score the movies which will be awesome since he hasn't been with Harry Potter since the third movie (which he did a great job composing for).
I just saw this movie last night at a midnight viewing..... It was awesome!!!!!! BUT..... they did leave alot of stuff out from the book... witch kinda made me mad. So and way i loved the movie though.. It was very sad
I love the Harry Potter movies and can't wait to see Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, but I love the Twilight Saga way better!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got an early screening for this movie and as a Harry Potter fan, I couldn't let this offer down. After seeing the movie, I would give it a solid 10, it is one of the best in the series.
