I love this movie so much and I reget not seeing it in theaters, I saw Talladega Nights instead because I was afraid to see a rated R movie. Littles Miss Sunshine only has language and is way better. If you ever feel depressed, mad, or are ashamed of your family, watch this and you'll feel better.
This is a great movie. Its going to be a classic movie that is watched for years. Its amazing.
A great movie with a great cast and characters. The little girl who plays Olive in this movie is absolutley adoreable. You will want to watch this movie more than once, it is that good.
This Movie was amazing! The whole cast was amazing and they give great great performances. But if I had to choose my favorite i would have to say it was Paul Dano's performance that was the icing of the cake. Best movie of 2006! 10 out of 10!
This movie blew me away. This angry, bitter, self-destructing family sets out on a road trip to the Little Miss Sunshine Pageant in Rodondo Beach, California from their home in Abequeque, New Mexico. They encouter many trials along the way, including leaving their little girl, Olive at a gas station, discovering that he smart-mouthed grandfather they have brought along died of a herion overdose during an overnight hotel stay, and actually somehow finding a way to be a family. They may not be the most important characters in the movie, but in my eyes, the entire movie is about Frank, the depressed uncle who failed at even commiting suicide, and Dwayne, the older brother who won't speak until he becomes a test pilot. They create a bond over the sheer stupidity of their horrible, horrible family. But, as this Dwayne teaches us in the end, " Do what you love, and ---- the rest." No truer words have been spoken. 10 out of 10.
hudson is great and murphy gives the best preformence of his carrer
best comedy of 07'. alian arkin has one of the best preformences of the year
One of my top five absoulte favorite/ you gotta see movies. A real gem that shows a family working to towards one central goal, beating there own demons, and trying not to kill each other... awsome movie!(oh ya... I went there)
I enjoyed the characters and especially enjoyed the pagent talent show---as it did have an underlining message.
I think I was hoping this movie was going to be better than it was. Sure, there are several humorous scenes, but I never really got into the characters. I was never sure whether it was trying to be a funny family advenure (like National Lampoon's Vacation) or some serious family drama (maybe a bit extreme, but like Ordinary People).
At least one critic agrees with some of my claims and says the film is stuck in a limbo state:
