if icould i would give this movie an elleven and a half it's so good i don't need subtitles .
Guillermo Del Toro (The devil's Backbone, Hellboy, The Orphanage, Blade Trilogy) is known for the breathtaking dark fantasy worlds he creates and "Pan's Labyrinth" is certainly no exception. This dark fantasy/thriller is arguable one of the most visually stunning movies of the year and certainly one of the most orginal. "Pan's Labyrinth" has rightly earned it's three Academy Awards for it's outstanding art direction, cinematography, and make-up. Del Toro's original and imaginative monsters are creative and disturbingly realistic. Aside from being a excellent film on a concrete level, "Pan's Labyrinth," is also superb on a abstract level. It is filled with deep meanings and and symbolism. The whole of the story is more than the sum of its parts. This concept used by film experts to distinguish good art from bad art called 'significant form', states "Images fit together so magnificently that they ascend to a higher level of visual meaning" -Steffan Shariff. Pan's Labyrinth is a perfect example of this. Ofallia, (the protagonist in the film) finds herself in the center of a ferocious battle between Good and Evil. This battle extends far more than the eye percieves. Moral conflicts clash causing an epic battle of the human conscience and the complex differences of right and wrong. Because of the sheer originality and the many talents of Guillermo Del Toro, "Pan's Labyrinth" is nothing short of a work of art.
This movie is thriling and exicting i give it a 10. Its the best fantasy movie i ve seen:)
This movie was wonderful. I understood some of the spanish. But having the movie in spanish added to the mystery of the film. There were many layers to this movie, that one can watch again and not get tired of it. Great costume designs for the Fawn and Pale Man.

This was without a doubt my favorite movie of 2006. The cinematography is beautifully done. The screenplay is well written. Excellent acting, and (thank God) NO PLOT-HOLES!!! This movie may not have obtained the highest box- office but trust me it is a well spent 2hr and 30min of your life.
