I've been waiting a freaking long time for Tarantino to return, and he's coming wih a vengeance. I have not seen the movie yet, and I give the trailer 5 stars! The man is awesome behind the camera. I can't wait till this movie opens April 6.
I find the "outtake" about this movie ridiculous in it's fumbling attempt to establish some kind of critical voice for this channel by expressing an opinion that is simply contrary to expectation. I really hope reviews of any kind from this channel are a little more sophisticated and not nearly as overly simplistic in the future.
This is gonna be a smash film. I cannot wait to see it this friday. I've been waiting for a film like this one especially from Tarentino. I can't take it anymore..i wanna see it now!
hey locutus... This is Jeff Otto, writer of the "outtake" you referred to. This reaction to Grindhouse was intended to be exactly that, A REACTION. I wrote it write after seeing the movie as an immediate response. The full review, by Thomas Leupp, can now be found on the home page or right here: http://www.reelzchannel.com/article.aspx?articleId=285And by the way, Grindhouse is a terrible movie and an overrated one. I am a huge Tarantino fan and was excited about his movie in particular, but Death Proof is just awful and Planet Terror is merely p***able. You're crazy if you think anyone would be praising these movies if they were directed by anyone else.
Stop hating on Grindhouse. I'm the real movie expert so you guys who say it sucked need to go to hell
You the man!!!!!!!!!!
EXACTLY! This movie RULES!
i 100% agree with you. i hope i can find shirts, hats to support grindhouse.
I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS MOVIE SINCE I HEARD OF IT'S CONCEPTION. GOOD LUCK ON THE OPENING. I LOVE THESE TYPES OF MOVIES ESPECIALLY FROM QUINTIN TERRINTINO.
I was surprised to see the low rating given to this double feature by reelzchannel.com.
First off, I would agree that the first feature, Planet Terror is better than the second, Death Proof which is much slower. I think that they order of the movies should have been reversed seeing as the much more intense and gory one was first. That being said, neither of the two features is really anything to write home about. The thing that I was rating was the expirience of the two together with the fake "prevues" and missing reels. It's foolish to rate the two pieces individually, as that's not how they were intended to be seen. By themselves, Planet Terror and Death Proof are pretty average movies, it's the expirience of seeing a "double feature" that I really found fun and entertaining.
yea i admit the doube feature was bad *** Planet Terror was exactly what i expected to be...but Death Proof was all it was built up to be i was a little dissapointed with that.
I have very differnt feelings about this film. I love the idea of recapturing the feel of the late seventies, early eighties B movies. Like the scratches and pops of film, the moog John Carpenter like music, and the trailers were genius. Planet Terror was spot on with all the quallities of b movies. I loved it, and cant wait for Machete to come out as a full feature on DVD. However, Deathproof was one of the worst pieces of garbage I have ever seen. When is Tarantino, and the public going to realize that he cannot make a decent movie to save his life. He is a terrible filmmaker, and an even worse actor. Grindhouse would have been much better if both movies were done by Rodriguez. Would love to see him do a double bill with Rob Zombie.
Maybe the most fun I've ever had at the theater. It was fun to laugh, cheer and clap along with the other members of the audience. I have to admit that Deathproof was a little slow getting started, but when it finally took off it did so with a bang. You owe it to yourself to go and check this movie out while its still in theaters. You will have a blast.
