This is one of Johnny Depp best roles. He had the talk, the walk, his grin was right on target. This movie shows he can play any character. I have been a Johnny Depp fan for 25 years. He has grown into an awesome actor. He was good as Glen in Nightmare on Elm Street, now there is no one that has his versatilty. He might not get an award for this movie, but we as fans know he deserves it.
This was a fantastic film! It had an awesome plot and storyline. I'm not a big Johnny Depp fan, but he was the best person to play John Dillinger in this film, and should be nominated at the oscars for many awards. Even though this film was a true story director, Michael Mann made this film into a masterpiece by recreating the story of Public Enemy #1, John Dillinger. The action sequences in this were awesome, the scenes leave you on the edge o your seat. This movie was so great, that this film is my new 2nd favorite film. If I were you I would go see this film, and give it a grade of an A . ~MovieFan89~
I know the "critics" didn't have good things to say for the most part, but this was a very good movie. It has a couple of flaws. It does drag a bit and it can't seem to decide if it's a historical drama, love story or gangster action flick. Despite that, very fun to watch. Depp does a great job with Dillenger. First role in a while for him that I actually enjoyed his character. Bale just seems totally devoid of emotion in this one. If you don't get to it in the theater, definitely put it on your DVD/VOD viewing list.
