As much as I wanted to hate this film, after taking an honest second look at it I fell head over heels for it. It's just too great, obviously done with care and enthusiasm. The actors are spectacular, the direction is well thought-out, the storyline really spoke to me as well. I'm afraid I'm just going to have to buy it when it hits the stores so I can watch it over and over. And as for the much anticipated sequel? I'll be camping out, perhaps weeks in advance if necessary!
It has been a long time since ive logged on and star trek has been around for a while to so i decided to review it and all that stuff...
In the beging you see a star ship moving across the screen...Its the uss entirprise...no its not so that kind of confused me and so a BIG romulin ship coming out of a black hole like thingy and after that the whole movie is frikin loud but during that 15 minutes of the movie you discover wow Kirks soon to be father was the 15 minute captian of a star ship and that was kinda cool--till he rammed into the romulin ship.then it skips to kirks child life it kind of showed that on the trailer and then spocks child life he has a "human" brake down and yadda yadda yadda and so the everything morph together pretty well but its kind of confusing if you see it in IMAX.
This was a great film! It had a great plot and storyline to the film. I didn't really care for Star Trek until I saw this movie, and now I'm a fan of Star Trek. The cast was very good in this film, and I was very suprised Simon Pegg had a role in this film. I didn't really understand the film from the begining, but when the film reached the middle of the film it started to make more sense, and the end of the film was amazing! If I were you I would go see this film right away, and give it a grade of a B .
GREAT! This is what summer movies should be ,an escape that must be relived over, and over.
Okay, just kidding, 10 out of 10!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I saw Star Trek on Saturday, May 27, 2009. It was an AWESOME movie! I like the way they modified the USS Enterprise. I saw Leonard Nimoy in the movie but why couldn't they bring in William Shatner? No Star Trek movie is complete without Shatner. So summing up, for this movie I give it a 6 out of 10.
f**king awesome 14/10 if this movie where any better well it can't be best big film of the year just f**king awesome.
I will admit I was skeptical about this. I've now seen it twice I will probably see it again this weekend rather than go to Angels
I'm not much of a trekkie, but this was a solid movie with a decent treatment of time travel and the like. I know enough about the original to know that they're playing with this alternate reality theme, and that they do it well! The best example, in my opinion, of this well-done alternate universe is the spock / ahura romance angle, whereas the original obviously had kirk and ahura in this role, with their historic first interracial kiss on screen.
I thought the evil Nero was a bit one-dimensional, bent on revenge at all costs, and fairly irrational, opting for vengeance for a "crime" (again, his reaction is a little... illogical, a vulcan might say) which hasn't yet happened, and which he could alternatively simply seek to avoid. Instead, he's bent on destruction and death and blowing up everything in sight.
All in all, a fine movie. I loved the performance of Sylar...err... spock, too.
i have never been a star trek fan but this movie looks great i will watch it next week cause i was unable to this weekend
