This was a great film. This film had a fantastic plot, and storyline. I like these kinds of films because you just want to keep watching, and you're dying to know what happens which is great about this film. I think Russell Crowe, Ben Affleck, and Rachel McAdams deliver key roles in their acting carrers in this film. I think that this film should be nominated at the oscars this year for many rewards including: best actor, best supporting actor, and best supporting actress, best directer, and maybe best picture. If I were you I would go see this film, and give it a grade of a B .
I think "State of Play" was actually a decent film, but ultimately fell victim to it's own marketing. The film was pitched as such a twist and turn story of the unexpected, that it was difficult for me to not assume that the least expected character would eventually turn out to be the bad guy. It created a reputation and an expectation for itself before the movie goer could even see the film. It was almost like watching a late season of the television show "24," in that you just assume that everyone is going to flip sides at one point or another.Aside from that, the film was actually entertaining and creatively written. I fear it may have been a little two well written in a way, as I would bet many people will leave the theatre scratching their heads wondering exactly what happened in the story. This may be one worth watching a couple times as you will likely pick up more the second time around. All in all, I'd say it's worth seeing in the theater if you're in the right mood.
I watched this movie and was very pleased with the acting and story line! You should go out and see this because of all the twists!
