I think the Avengers in this film should be Captain america, Iron Man, The Hulk, Thor, because of a few reasons. 1: They are the original Avengers, 2: By the time this movie is made, they will be the only ones to have their own movie, besides Wolverine and Spider-Man who are in The Avengers.
This is an original Avengers story. Spidey and Wolverine are New Avengers. Don't get confused.

I like where your heads at on the wasp and antman...i think they would suck to for the first movie but could be good additions later...i believe many characters will come in if done right and the sky is the limit if the first avengers movie does well in the box office
I here ur worries themyth7...but if you read the ideas for the direction of the avengers i think it will turn out great...if you read about louis letteriers idea for the avengers it is a really good one...they want to break down the avengers into a set of movies that will be about an hour and a half long from each of the directors of separate marvel movies and release them one month apart during the summer of 2012...this way they can avoid putting 2 much in2 one movie and missing things...if they do this they hit on a multiple of different avengers stories form the comics while integrating new chararcters and still making the indivdual marvel franchises such as cap, iron man, incrdible hulk and the other ones they choose...if u got ne feedabck please wirte im on here everyday
this movie i think will be rated R because there will be alot of words like **** and sexual content like watchmen

Also to get this movie right it would have to be like 3 hours long in order to give all the characters sufficient screen time. I am authentically worried about this movie, It has so much potential, but could also turn into a monstrous flop of epic proportions. I love Marvel Comics and I just don't wanna see them go overboard and do more than can be handled. However, I have faith that it will turn out for the better.
It is so great that they r taking their time and introducing all of the Avengers independantly with their own movies. I was hoping it was a possibility that they would go the new Avengers route ( Captain America, Iron Man, Luke Cage, Spider Man, Wolverine, Spider Woman, and Ronin a.k.a. Hawkeye) but it looks like that is out of the question. They r only using 5 for the first movie, Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America, Thor, and the last is unknown to me. articles say they r using the original 5 Avengers, but the problem is there were 6, Wasp and Ant man were the other 2. I think Wasp and Antman would suck as premiere Avenger's for the Movie. So Please Let it be Hawkeye who could be masterfully played by Clive Owen, who has more than proven that he can not only play a kickass deadshot, but knows how to shoot off at the mouth. Wasp and Antman would make good additions for later movies, along with heroes like Quicksilver, Black Panther, and Vision. Quicksilver would be great as the Avenger from the Mutant community tyeing them to the X-men. Maybe cameo Beast as there go to in the U'S' government Since the last X flic put Beast in that position, it makes sense to because Beast was an Avenger for a time. Future Avenger Movies could be so awesome with enemie's like Ultron and Kang. I also say they should save the Red Skull for the Avengers instead of putting him in the first Captain America flic.
Edward Norton won't be in Avengers as Hulk.Mark Ruffalo will take his place.Also,there might not be a place for Giant Man or The Wasp in the movie either.Sorry but,i was hoping that this movie they're making would feature most of the Avengers however,these are the Avengers: Capt.America,Iron Man,Thor,Hulk,Black Widow,Nick Fury/Hawkeye Might not seem like much considering X-Men 3 had: Wolverine,Storm,Beast,Shadowcat,Rogue,Colossus & Iceman but,i'm sure something good will come out of that Avengers lineup alone.
What is the problem with Wasp, not to mention Scarlet Witch which you totally ignore. The disappointment I've felt over the years with the sidelining of the women superheros in favour of the more macho male characters - take Storm or Polaris far more powerful and impressive than wolverine but used as background or not at all. Now we get an almost totally male avengers with surprise surprise the Black Widow no doubt her skin tight black leather outfit being the reason for her inclusion. Freya in Thor was a wimp why?

Wasp wasn't a member of the original Avengers unfortunately. Scarlet Witch? She's the daughter of Magneto and sister to Quicksilver.Better to reintroduce the daddy before you introduce the son/daughter don't you think? Especially since her name's Wanda Maximoff(who's her mother remains a mysery here).
