They need to find a way to get Tom Welling to be casted for the Superman role in the rebooted film! In the Smallville series, he's basically playing superman and he has earned it and i would do him justice and he's a much better actor, thats for sure!

Tom Welling is without doubt this generations Superman, and without him productivity wise, it wont work'' because the following that has backed Smallville for the past 10 years works out 85% of Superman fans cannon based aswell as new, and with the way things are going it would certainly seem that man of steel is already dead in the water!! and i hope they've not alraedy blown it, because if they have the Superman franchise will turn into the joke the Batman franchise was during the 90s with every actor who had a pulse having a go at the lead role!! i dont know the reason for such goof up again, when after returns i thought it would be quite obvious to go with the natural choice which is Welling, ..and ive also heard that WB have been warned by bosses at DC that if they produce anything more thats less productive than the last Superman projects, then they'll be stripped of the exclusive Superman rights and all materials concerning the trademark..which would i believe serve them selves right!!
except smallville is a silly kids show and they are obsessed with kryptonite. You would think that superman can't be written without that green stuff in every bad episode of smallville.
I love Tom Welling as much as the next girl, and he is fantastic in Smallville, I'm so sad to see that series go, i basically grew up with it. But I think Brandon R just makes a better superman and I personally think he's a better actor. I will be very disappointed if they go for a different actor in Man of Steel. Also for the people who keep saying that Tom is some really young guy and needs to grow up a little for the role, he's 33 people! The age they're looking for only goes to 32. Still in love with him though.

brandon routh is good actor but he's just not a Superman and never will be!!! funememtally they tried opening up the reeves classics by adding the routh installment to it, now that in it's self it crime, simply because there Gold classics, and to cannot better that which is awesome anyway, especially by adding to it with someone who resembles the great late actor!! No'' you have to reinvent the story which is what Smallville did, and in alot of ways explained elements of the characters life that was never explained, all we got for years was the man story!..when Smallville told us how the boy became the man and the reasons why'' and for which purposes he chooses to use his abilities, im a Superman connoisseur, and i firmly believe Smallville to be the greatest interpretation and incarnation of the character ..both cannon and recent, henry cavil again is very talented actor, but im afraid Tom Welling has this character on lock, and if theres anyone true to the fans and what will work there'll use him to do the role and the fans justice after 10 years,
I thought Brandon Routh himself did a pretty good job...I guess I am alone in that but I liked the pick and thought he did an excellent job...i like his subtle change in personality from Clark Kent to Superman...he was subtle and because of that you didnt watch the movie and say man he is trying so hard to act like hes not superman...i like how it just came naturally 2 him much like christoper reeves when he was in the movies...i think tom welling will overdo and I don't see his style translating to the Dc universe and the movei genre...mayb it is justme but i believe he will be trying real hard and you will see it in the movie...not 2 say he doesnt deserve a shot i mean he was good in smallville but from televison to a movie there alot of differences...i don't know if maturiy wise tom welling is up there enough to play superman in a movie that must deliver big...if u disagree i love 2 hear feedback and comments
when chris reeve was cast as superman in the 78 movie he was age 24 , 26 l for git which whit the reimagig of smallville l don't know if tom could handle the role cuz inthat show he's the blur in black maybe with a lil work he could be the SUPERMAN we all rember from years gone by
I agree with u. Tom Welling earned the part and deserves it. He does a great job in Smallville, why cant he do good in a movie. He should be the right age by now. He might have just a little bit more growing up to do age and mature wise but he can do it.

EXACTLY! CHRISTOPHER REEVE DIDN'T PASS THE TORCH DOWN TO TOM WELLING FOR NO REASON! PLUS DEAN CAIN KIND OF HANDED OFF THE REIGNS AS WELL! SO IT SHOULD BE A NO BRAINER, BUT MORE THAN LIKELY WE WON'T HAVE TOM OR MIKE ROSENBAUM! LIFE GOES ON AND TIMES CHANGE! BUMMER! WE CAN STILL HOPE THOUGH!
