I'm a huge Superman fan and Superman Returns was overall, a dissapointment and although the special effects looked cool but a couple of the flying scenes did not look real enough. Now I do agree the storyline should be fun BUT AT THE SAME TIME, IT CHARACTER NEEDS TO BE TAKEN MORE SEREIOUSLY. The material was great in the Christopher Reeve films but things have changed and the character needs to be kicked up a few more notches - the character needs to be more tougher a little more edgier and yet STILL BE SUPERMAN AND STILL BE A LOT OF FUN! They really need to get Tom Welling for the role because personally, he's got the look, he's got the acting skill - much better actor than Routh, thats for sure! I don't care what people say. He's got the most quality to capture the esence and the spirit of Superman and he's earned it and it would do him justice. Many poeple want him to be casted for the role and SO DO I! Ithink there would be total dissapointment and some heartbreak if it never happens. I tune to the sereis every week and as a true superman fan I would supprt him with all my being. And when comes to the movie, THEY NEED TO MAKE HIM MORE POWERFUL BECAUSE THEY POWERED HIM DOWN TOO MUCH - IN FACE, THEY NEED TO BRING HIS POWERS BACK TO PRE-CRISIS LEVELS. I want to see him kick more butt during fights again supervillians AMD ABLE TO STAND TOE TO TOE AGAINT MORE POWERFUL VILLIANS FROM THE COMIC. And lots of action and they need to make the movie a connection and somehow would touch the audience as well with a couple funny and witty scenes like they did in Iron man, to make a point. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE THE FILM SUCESSFUL. And the ening with Superman Returns' ending was so bad - him haing a kid??? No. Kryptonians and humans don't mix when comes to breeding, according the comic. And they need to keep the fact that if he would fly closer and closer towards or even into the sun, would absorb enormous amounts of the yellow sun's energy and his powers would gain very god-like levels and becoming faster than the speed of light as well, also according to the comic. They can still pay some tribute to the Richard Donner's film by giving it the John Wiliams version of the Superman score because, well, THATS SUPERMAN'S THEME - IT WOULDN'T FEEL THE SAME WITHOUT IT! Superman Return's intro was too short - theme songe wise.
