The Pacific

I doubt if you will read this or even receive it but I just wanted to thank you and Mr. Speilberg for your wonderful work on the mini series. My late father was in the 2nd Marine Division in the Pacific and I only wish he could have seen what a great job you guys did with the series. You really captured all of the details right down to the exact weapons they were using at the beginning of the island campaign (i.e., Guadacanal). My father fought at Tarawa, Saipan anfd Tinian and only spoke of it in his later years. The last episode really hit close to home when Sledge made the comment about "not ever putting on a uniform again." My late mother had told me as a young child that my father threw everything away when he got home including his uniforms. His last words to me as a dying man 4 years ago was "The best invention they ever made was the ******** flame thrower." Thanks agian.
