This is in regards to CONTINUITY. Please direct me to who might answer this. Star Trek has always been about continuity from series to movies, with references to the future or the past. The one thing that puzzles me is in the new Star Trek movie, what is up with the destruction of Vulcan and Romulus? It was weird enough having both Spocks on at the same time, although I thought it was great having young and old (by the way, the casting for ST1 was excellent), but the Enterprise and company often visited Vulcan in the series and in the movies. In the early series, and the early movies, Vulcan is portrayed as some great civilization. Romulus is a passing reference in dealing with the Romulans. But in ST1, which prequels the original series, Vulcan is destroyed. Romulus is also destroyed, which then should not have been a threat in the other timelines. Just puzzling. Will any of that be explained in further movies? Especially the Vulcan angle. Thank you. Old Trekker here and its been bugging me since the movie came out. Looking forward to another movie with this cast. All cast members were excellent, especially the guy who plays a young Spock.
