No suspense about the winners.

For weeks, James has been the brunt of Sam's criticism for being named co-host of the Oscars. James has won 11 major film awards including a BEST ACTOR GOLDEN GLOBE for his portrayal of James Dean. He's received countless rave reviews for his performance in "Howl" AND "127 Hours". He showed his comedic side in "Tropic Thunder", but when the ratings are down this year, it's neither James' or Anne Hathaway's fault. It's the fact that there is NO suspense about who's going to win. The same four actors...Firth,Portman,Bale, and Leo already have won every major award leading up to the Oscars where every critic has predicted the same quartet will win the Academy Award. Colin is overexposed. I feel as if I've seen him in 25 movies (exaggeration) during the past three years and I, nor anyone this side of the Atlantic, cares whether or not he adds one more statue to his mantle. What has Natalie Portman done to make her a teen or adult idol? So she made a four star horror flick...VERY predictable, but as an actress, does she come close to being comparable to a Meryl Streep? Richard Roeper and his cohorts have told us the winners. There's no mystery or suspense...really no interest in watching and it's NO FAULT of the hosts. The Oscars used to be THE golden prize, but we've already been down the red carpet with the Emmy's, the SAG awards, the Directors Guild, the Writer's Guild, plus all the special effect awards. The public is worn out with award shows and repeating myself...since we KNOW who's going to win. WHY BOTHER?
