"The Town" had a great deal of potential for being a top-notch film, but fell woefully short of that potential due to unrealistic, overblown scenes in Boston's North End and Fenway Park areas, and a not-very-realistic romance between Claire, the bank manager, and Doug MacRay. Very slip-shod and slap-happy editing on the part of Ben Affleck also caused the film the fall short of its potential, because there were many holes in the theatrical re-release that were in the extended cut that might very well have made this film more credible.
