Mississippi Burning is about a terrible time in our nations's history. How can you delete all the uses of the N word from the movie when that word-awful as it is--was a vital part of people's attitudes and speech during the time which is the setting for the film. You lessen the everyday expressions of racism in the South especially when you eliminate the N word from the script. That's the way things were in the early 1960's and you change the filmmaker's intentions when you eliminate a word so vital to the portrayal of racism during this time.
