this movie was absolutely pointless. this is not the type of movie anyc child would want to see and it has no flavour, emotion or any sense of a family movie. the worst film ive seen in a while. this film DOES NOT DESERV E TO EVEN BE RATED, the people who are rating this must not have seen the same movie as me, as it is absolutely POINTLESS AND A WASTE OF TIME, take my advice and please do not watch this film, it was so boring and at the end of the showing everyone was depressed coz they had looked forward to a good film, and was given a bland movie that dragged on and on. please also note that families were leaving throughout the movie. do not watch

oh shut up. Just because it might be boring for children doesn't mean it was horrible. It was just more for teens and adults
So many predictable scenes. Some things too drawn out-that locomotive about to hit Hugo must have been travelling at one mile an hour. Chloe Moretz too adultly pretty for her role. Uncle inexplicably nasty to Hugo-child dearly loves notebook so uncle burns it and gives him the ashes. Girl says he didn't really burn it but Hugo never sees it again. Just an overblown dumb movie where you wonder why people are behaving so oddly.
