Ralph is the Earl of Shiring's son and Merthin's more attractive twin brother. Darkly handsome, aggressive and bullish, he is a natural-born warrior. Ralph becomes the Knight Roland's apprentice.
He distrusts Petranilla, but seems to listen to her against his own better judgment. Ralph facilitates Roland's dirty work in Kingsbridge.

Oliver Jackson-Cohen was born in London where he attended the Lycée Français before getting his professional start, at the age of 15, in an episode of Hollyoaks. This was followed by roles in ITV’s The Time of Your Life and the BBC’s Bonekickers. In 2008 he landed a leading role in the first season of the popular BBC TV series Lark Rise to Candleford. In 2009 Oliver was accepted into the Strasberg Theatre Institute and relocated to New York to continue his studies as an actor. Oliver was featured in the August 2010 release of the Warner Brothers/New Line Cinema film Going The Distance opposite Drew Barrymore and Justin Long.
He was also seen in the CBS Films feature Faster, starring opposite Dwayne Johnson and Billy Bob Thornton. In 2011, Oliver will be seen in What’s Your Number? For Twentieth Century Fox with Anna Faris and Chris Evans, and also James McTeigue’s The Raven, alongside John Cusack, Alice Eve and Luke Evans
