The future Princess Leia was born to famed singer Eddie Fisher and MGM movie star, Debbie Reynolds in in 1956. But after Carrie’s breakout role in Star Wars earned her fame and fortune, the actress spiraled slowly into bipolar disorder that she treated with drugs and alcohol. Before she died, Carrie was quoted as saying “I am truly a product of Hollywood in-breeding. When two celebrities mate, someone like me is the result.”
