On January 7, 2025, a series of Southern California’s most devastating wildfires ignited in the Santa Monica Mountains. Fueled by 100+ MPH Santa Ana winds and very dry brush, the blaze rapidly spread into densely populated neighborhoods such as Pacific Palisades, Malibu and Altadena.
Ultimately, the fire scorched more than 23,000 acres, destroying or severely damaging thousands of structures. Tragically, at least 12 people died, and several others were injured.
