The “Scream” movies featuring the iconic Ghostface killer are one of the most popular horror franchises of all time. The four films have grossed more than $330 million dollar in North America alone. It also spawned a successful TV series in 2015. But the roots of the story go back to a horrifying murder in Florida in the early 1990’s. Screenwriter Kevin Williamson was inspired to draft an 18-page script treatment about a young woman, alone in a house, who is taunted over the phone and then attacked by a masked killer. He borrowed elements from the real story of serial killer Danny Harold Rolling, a.k.a “The Gainesville Ripper” who murdered four female college students in Florida in 1990. Williamson changed the location from a college to a high school for the original film. Her grisly murder closely resembles the first brutal slaying committed by Rolling.

Deputy Miller goes to follow up an investigation a robbery suspect with a felony warrant out for his arrest and talks with a citizen who claims to have information on the suspect. They believe the suspect is holed up in a building and a K-9 unit is called in to sniff him out. He decides arrest is better than a dog bite and comes out of hiding. Deputy Taroli responds to a call for help from a mother who claims her son is attacking her. Deputy Campora pulls over a vehicle with expired registration and license. He also has a vial of Meth in his possession. The Deputy has a very revealing and frank conversation with the suspect.

Deputy Sorey responds to a 911 call from a woman who claims she is fighting with her boyfriend and hangs up. The Deputy comes in contact with an angry and non-compliant boyfriend and he investigates further. The girlfriend shows the Deputy the bruises inflicted by her boyfriend and the boyfriend is arrested for Domestic Violence. Deputy Roberts on the Sheriff’s Folsom Lake Boat Patrol, search for two missing tourists who went hiking in the morning and have not been seen for quite a while. Deputy Thomsen responds to a call from a Safeway store that there is a transient who has been completely naked in the bathroom for over an hour.
